Posted by Steve Carrier on June 30th, 2009

Fans of Michael Jackson have been hit hard by the star’s death - 12 devotees have allegedly killed themselves following the tragic news. The King Of Pop passed away on Thursday from a cardiac arrest and millions of his fans worldwide went into mourning. But several of them found it too hard to cope and subsequently ended their own lives, according to the founder of an online Jackson fan club.Gary Taylor, president and owner of MJJcommunity.com, says, “I know there has been an increase (in deaths), I now believe the figure is 12. It is a serious situation that these people are going through but Michael Jackson would never want this. He would want them to live.”

“They (fans) can’t accept it; they feel in some sort of different reality. I’m stunned that he’s dead. One minute he is coming here for concerts and the next he is gone. I think the funeral will be where the reality kicks in that he is gone and won’t be coming back, there will be a huge depression in the fan community when that happens.” And Jackson’s political activist pal Reverend Jesse Jackson has even recorded a message to his fans, urging them not to “self-destruct” in the wake of the singer’s demise.  Jesse Jackson says, “This is a time when hearts are heavy. There is great pain but great cause to celebrate Michael’s life. It made Michael happy saying ‘We Are The World’. Don’t self-destruct. We fall down sometimes, we get back up. That’s the right thing to do. In Michael’s name let’s live together as brothers and sisters and not die apart as fools.”

Thousands of Jackson fans are planning a vigil on July 13th at the O2 Arena in London where the star was due to kick off his 50-date comeback tour.

According to Michael Jackson's largest online fan club, MJ fanatics have been recently committing suicide because of the pop star's tragic death

The Sun is reporting that up to 12 die-hard Jackson followers have taken their own lives since his passing on Thursday.

Gary Taylor, who runs MJJcommunity.com, recently said, "I know there has been an increase, I now believe the figure is 12. I believe there may have been one Briton who has taken their life. It is a serious situation that these people are going through but Michael Jackson would never want this. He would want them to live."

This crazy news came to light when it was revealed that a Jackson lookalike in Russia cut his wrists after Michael's death was announced last week. The fan, Pável Talaláyev, was found bleeding heavily at his home in Moscow just hours after it was announced that Jackson had died. Luckily for him, an ambulance crew found him in time and managed to save his life. Apparently others have not been so fortunate.

The most insane aspect of this story has to be the conversation that took place in the ambulance after the paramedics had saved Talaláyev from death.

One of the paramedics stated, "He was in a terrible state and kept on saying: 'It's all the same to me. I'm going to kill myself. It's the worst tragedy of my life and I don't want to live any more. I don't know why you saved my life, I want to be with him'."

Pável is supposedly Russia's most famous Jacko lookalike and apparently modeled himself after MJ from the age of nine.

Hot damn.

very true! Lets also step back and look at a few things here....WHY THE HELL, would you want to look like Micheal Jackson in the first place? I know he made some music that alot of people loved (I personally thought it blew goat testicles) but he is just not your average day role model when he hangs babies over balconies and takes a sexual fancy towards little boys. If you are going to kill yourself over something like that...well, i really have no advice but to say buy a big razor blade.

I know how it feels being a hard core fan. they are our idol, they are our friend, they are everything to us!
But never forget the main important thing in one life, tha is your own!
You choose your idol, you choose your friends, you are everything to your loved ones!
Do NOT waste your own life so simple!
You can bet on all our lives that Michael Jackson would NOT want you to do so too!
MJ would want you guys to live on his legacy and tell everyone how great he was as "The King of Pop".
Here me and my family would like to wish you well and "RIP Michael Jackson", we'd loved you form the bottomof our heart...

I'm sorry, but this appears to be just another Darwinian apsect of life. If these people were so wrapped up with a self-loathing blackman who wnated to be white, a closet homosexual grappling with his religious demons, and a has been (when did he last have a hit?). Then maybe this is just cleaning out the gene pool. Have at it idiots, kill yourselves.

I just want to say, we all have or problems the only difference is we are not followed by people everyday and cameras in our face at all times. Don¿t be so quick to judge Michael. There¿s only one true Judge. We all have done something wrong in our lives. It¿s just not publicized. (He without sin let him cast the first stone). Michael was found not guilty. Please let him rest in peace. No, matter what anyone says he was a man full of life and no one will ever do the things that he has done. He has paved the way for so many people. So, what if he changed the way he looks, no one knows why he really did what he did. Maybe he was unhappy with the way he look and he felt ugly. We are all human and we all have insecurities about something. He brought so much joy to so may people. I often wonder who brought joy to him. If you don¿t have anything nice to say then, I am sure you have heard the saying don¿t say anything at all.

I know it was a blow to the world to face Elvis's death. But MJ was much more relevant. He was the consummate entertainer. I don't deny that he was different. Please put into contex how you would react/mature if your father, Joe Jackson, inflicted this abuse on a child. He remained as a child, in terms of maturity, because he was not permitted to ever enjoy the comforts of being a young boy. There is a saying, that people who don't understand, mock and criticize....do I need to say more? There is no entertainer that will ever have the impact in this heavily saturated music industry that Michael Jackson conquered.

We will always miss your energy and talent and despite your personal life, which many have confused with your ability to entertain, you are THE KING OF MUSIC of all time. Your critics are jaded and most likely green with all consuming envy.

I related to this man. I am a woman, but feel like a girl inside. I am sensitive and reclusive as Michael Jackson was. I could just see how caring and loving he was toward people. I hope that his fans who are suffering like I am decide to go and honor Michael by showing kindness to others. Michael always said Love is what mattered the most because he did not receive a lot of love as a child. Although he had millions, fame and mega material possesions and experienced their allure and excitement, Michael seemed to value the love of people most important. GOD BLESS YOU, MICHAEL. I LOVE YOU AND YOUR BEAUTIFUL SPIRIT YOU HAVE LEFT BEHIND. THANK YOU FOR BEING EXACTLY WHO YOU WERE, A BEAUTIFUL KIND & SENSITIVE MAN. Man, I'd love to meet a guy like you!

For one viewer on this list: Really starting to peeve me off, if you believe everything you read and everything you hear without facts, your life must be sad and pathetic. Fact: if he was into young kids, in 1979, he had to sing a song "she left me" it took weeks for him to record without crying as his girlfriend did leave him. I know someone who was or is a peodophile, nope never saw him crying when his partner split up. Same as gays, if they accidently marry opposite sex, they don't get upset when they split. Thank god you don't live where I stay, as I do entertainment, it makes me a target. As I believe with this accusation, he got to live with that now. Maybe police should have taken a look at the fathers business books, were they going bust by any chance. Take a look at Michael face at the court case, you can tell he has been crying, and listen to him whilst talking he is very shy, so maybe you should get out more and get a life.
To finish this off, To Michael:
I will apologise for all the hassle you got in life, you tried your best, I even heard if you saw someone sleeping outside before your concert, you passed a blanket on to them. To me that is beautiful, I wish I saw one of your concerts, but not to keen on crowds.
As you started early in life, I believe this made you naive to the world, and a target.
    God Bless, xxxxxx

4 ur Good gestures u¿ve been crucified, innocent soul sentenced 2 die slowly! They ridiculed u. So much love u had instead they mocked u. Good hearted, pure love, but how could they understand, a love so intricate that they can never attain, or even come close to it. Yet deep inside them they admired you, the thriving star in you! To those royal to u we moan a fallen soldier. Your legacy lives forever for no one can ever top that. God rest you in eternal peace for they will never hurt u again!

Michael Jackson Was To Make Comeback At Grammy Awards?

And possibly sing...

Michael Jackson could make his long awaited comeback at the Grammy Awards in Los Angeles next month, according to reports.

The singer, who has not toured for over a decade, is already scheduled to release the 25th anniversary edition of ‘Thriller’ on February 11th – the day after this years Grammy’s.

According to a leaked memo from SonyBMG, Jackson’s record label are desperate to get the singer to celebrate Thriller’s anniversary with a full comeback.

As well as the Grammy Awards ceremony, the memo also mentions a potential TV special, which could include his brothers, and the possibility of live shows.

Diane Dimond, who wrote a book about Jackson’s 2005 child molestation trail – for which he was fully acquitted – told the LA times that she was 90% certain that he would appear, and possibly sing, at this years Grammy ceremony.

Grieving Jackson Fans 'Commit Suicide' ...
Grieving Jackson Fans 'Commit Suicide' Monday, June 29

The man behind the world's biggest online Michael Jackson fan club has said heartbroken followers of the star have committed suicide because of his death.

Gary Taylor, president and owner of MJJcommunity.com, said he understood the tragedies had mostly taken place outside of the UK but he believed one may have been British.

"I know there has been an increase, I now believe the figure is 12. I believe there may have been one Briton who has taken their life," he said. "It is a serious situation that these people are going through but Michael Jackson would never want this. He would want them to live. "Jesse Jackson, a friend of the singer, has recorded a YouTube film on the site urging fans not to "self destruct".He said: "This is a time when hearts are heavy. There is great pain but great cause to celebrate Michael's life. "It made Michael happy saying 'We Are The World'. Don't self destruct. "We fall down sometimes, we get back up. That's the right thing to do. In Michael's name let's live together as brothers and sisters and not die apart as fools." MJJcommunity.com was formed 10 years ago by Mr Taylor, a London office manager, and has more than 14,000 online users and 30 staff worldwide. He said the singer's death had left his fans on the forum "in a surreal place". "They can't accept it, they feel in some sort of different reality," he said. "I'm stunned that he's dead. One minute he is coming here for concerts and the next he is gone. "I think the funeral will be where the reality kicks in that he is gone and won't be coming back, there will be a huge depression in the fan community when that happens."Thousands of Michael Jackson fans are expected to gather for a vigil on July 13 at the O2 Arena where the star was due to perform.

They will assemble at Canary Wharf from 1pm before moving on to the 02 from 6pm.

Final rehearsal ... Michael Jackson prepares for his comeback tour in final photos two days before his death / Getty

THIS is the last picture of Michael Jackson on stage, taken just two days before he died.
The images of the singer hard at work rehearsing for his upcoming tour give a glimpse of what was in store for fans at his planned comeback gigs in London's 02.
Jackson was due to begin the first of 50 dates at the arena on July 13, but died last Friday after being rushed to hospital in Los Angeles.
In one of the newly-emerged images, taken last Tuesday at the Staples Centre in Los Angeles, the singer points towards the audience as backing dancers perform in front of a huge This Is It banner.
Despite looking frail, the star strikes a familiar pose and appears to be in full flow during the rehearsal.
In another photo, he smiles broadly, microphone in hand, dressed in a long shimmering mac over a top and trousers.
And an Australia dancer, Shannon Holtzapffel, has revealed that he was one of just 10 people from around the world that was selected to be part of the tour.
Holtzapffel was dancing with the King of Pop just hours before his death. More than 800,000 tickets costing up to $2500 had been sold for the concerts at London's O2 arena which were hailed as the most "expensive and technically advanced" live shows ever.
The concerts, which were due to start in two weeks' time, had been expected to be the highest grossing pop production of all time.

Fans of Michael Jackson 'commit suicide'

MICHAEL Jackson's death has reportedly led at least a dozen people to kill themselves worldwide while Australians seek help from a suicide prevention hotline.

Some callers to Lifeline Australia, which speaks to about 50 suicidal people each day, have told counsellors that Jackson's death on Friday had left them distressed.

London man Gary Taylor, who owns the biggest Michael Jackson online fan club, said he was aware of about 12 suicides following the performer's death, Sky News UK reports.

"It is a serious situation that these people are going through but Michael Jackson would never want this," Mr Taylor said.

"He would want them to live."

Lifeline CEO Dawn O'Neil said that while there has not been "a dramatic increase" in calls to counsellors since Friday, people have spoken about how Jackson's death has affected them.

"We have had some calls related to this," Ms O’Neil said.

"In some cases, (a celebrity's death) can be very distressing."

The calls came as a friend to the famous family, the Reverend Jesse Jackson, urged fans not to "self-destruct".

"This is a time when hearts are heavy," Jackson said. "There is great pain but great cause to celebrate Michael's life.

"It made Michael happy saying 'We Are The World'. Don't self destruct."

Ms O'Neil said it was important for people to discuss how they feel in times of death.

"With any loss or death, everyone grieves in their own way," she said.

"Find someone to talk to… it certainly is important to talk to someone."

She said speaking to friends, family, counsellors or their doctor could help people in grief.

If you or someone you know may be at risk of suicide contact Lifeline on 131 114; Kids Help Line on 1800 551 800; visit http://www.beyondblue.org.au; or seek immediate help from a GP or a counsellor.

MJ was spectacularly bankrupt, reportedly in the range of $800-million, which is rather a lot for an individual. Had he lived on a few more years, he might have qualified for his own TARP program (US gov bailout). He was a has-been. He hadn't recorded a song worth listening to in over two decades. He had done almost nothing but spin his wheels, hop around the globe from one place to another at enormous expense, and make himself available for award ceremonies to stoke his ego (and give advertisers a reason to promote some televised award show). He existed strictly on image, an anorectic figure nourished by moonbeams of attention, famous for saying that he loved his worshippers when the truth was he merely sucked the life out of them. In his last years, he even looked a bit like Nosferatu, the personification of the un-dead, and his fascination with ghouls was the basis for his biggest hit way back in the last century. A zombie nation deserves a zombie mascot.

Michael would have known these words..."Time and unforeseen occurrence befall them all."¿Ecclesiastes 9:11 His death came as a shock to everyone. No one knows when it will happen to them, its never in their mind. Despite everything he was a legend in music, he had some of the greatest all time song. Lets remember him for who he is, not for what he read.

Michael Jackson was an amazing entertainer who will be sadly missed. I suggest that a group of those in the music industry get together and release one of Michael¿s own songs as a tribute to him, with the proceeds going to children¿s charities. `Gone Too Soon¿ seems appropriate. I see it as being a bit like `We are the world¿ combined with Elton¿s tribute to Diana. RIP MJJ.

JACKSON FANS 'COMMIT SUICIDE'

Fans of MICHAEL JACKSON have been hit hard by the star's death - 12 devotees have allegedly killed themselves following the tragic news.
The King Of Pop passed away on Thursday (25Jun09) from a cardiac arrest and millions of his fans worldwide went into mourning.
But several of them found it too hard to cope and subsequently ended their own lives, according to the founder of an online Jackson fanclub.
Gary Taylor, president and owner of MJJcommunity.com, says, "I know there has been an increase (in deaths), I now believe the figure is 12. It is a serious situation that these people are going through but Michael Jackson would never want this. He would want them to live.
"They (fans) can't accept it, they feel in some sort of different reality. I'm stunned that he's dead. One minute he is coming here for concerts and the next he is gone. I think the funeral will be where the reality kicks in that he is gone and won't be coming back, there will be a huge depression in the fan community when that happens."
And Jackson's political activist pal Reverend Jesse Jackson has even recorded a message to his fans, urging them not to "self-destruct" in the wake of the singer's demise.
Jesse Jackson says, "This is a time when hearts are heavy. There is great pain but great cause to celebrate Michael's life. It made Michael happy saying 'We Are The World'. Don't self-destruct. We fall down sometimes, we get back up. That's the right thing to do. In Michael's name let's live together as brothers and sisters and not die apart as fools."
Thousands of Jackson fans are planning a vigil on 13 July (09) at the O2 Arena in London where the star was due to kick off his 50-date comeback tour.

12 Michael Jackson Fans 'Commit Suicide' In Wake Of His Death

Says the president of an online MJ community...

12 Michael Jackson fans have reportedly commit suicide in the wake of The King of Pop's sudden death last Thursday.

Sky News quotes Gary Taylor, the head of the world's biggest Michael Jackson online fan club MJJcommunity.com, who says some fans can't cope with the news of the singer's death.

He said: "I know there has been an increase (in deaths), I now believe the figure is 12. It is a serious situation that these people are going through but Michael Jackson would never want this. He would want them to live.”

Taylor continued: "They can't accept it, they feel in some sort of different reality.

“I'm stunned that he's dead. One minute he is coming here for concerts and the next he is gone.

“I think the funeral will be where the reality kicks in that he is gone and won't be coming back, there will be a huge depression in the fan community when that happens."

The music legend's close friend, Reverend Jesse Jackson, has also expressed his fears about the mental state of Michael's loyal fans saying they must pull together instead of taking their lives.

He urged:  "This is a time when hearts are heavy. There is great pain but great cause to celebrate Michael's life. It made Michael happy saying 'We Are The World'. Don't self destruct.

"We fall down sometimes, we get back up. That's the right thing to do. In Michael's name let's live together as brothers and sisters and not die apart as fools."

What? You've got to be kidding me, right? That's just plain sad to me! Throwing away their lives just because their favorite celebrety is dead? There's something that just seems wrong with that. I wouldn't kill myself if Billy Corgan, Tori Amos AND Akira Yamaoka got killed in the same day, and those are my three most favorite musicians of all freakin' time!!! I don't understand why someone would do that...brain does not compute!!! *brain starts emitting smoke*

I know you have a thing against suicide but don't push your opinions onto others thank you. Eros is entitled to say what she feels about this topic without you questioning it.

Umm...not to be rude or anything...but I don't think Vision was trying to push any opinion on anyone...I just thought that Vision was saying what Vision thought...

Anyways, back to the discussion, I don't really think I could actually understand anyone who does something like commit suicide because of this. It just doesn't make any sense to me...why would you do such a thing when your favorite artist WHO YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW PERSONALLY just died. If you were really, REALLY good personal friends with him, then I MIGHT be able to see it happening, if you were part of his family I MIGHT see that happening...but these people didn't even know him personally.

Not the way i read it. There's no need to make a reply like that toward someone if you've already stated where you stand on the issue.

Hmm...yeah, I can see how you'd say that. Still, it was just a comment. No real need to take it too personally.

These people who have ended their lives because a celebrity whom they idolised died, had some kind of mental damage. They killed themselves for a non-reason and as such acted in a foolish/stupid/idiotic (choose your synonym) manner.

What is sad about the situation is that they were clearly unaware of how stupid they acted.

IN MY OPINION.

IMO, though, these people were idiots and morons. Yes, it's sad they committed suicide, because there might be people out there who are hurt by the loss, but that doesn't make them any less stupid.

I find this both stupid and sad myself. I don't understand anyone committing suicide over the loss of anyone. Though I can understand someone dying over the loss of someone, as I know it would be hard for me to live on without Saelilah (my gf).

It's sad they ended their lives over something so stupid.
