Murder by Queensland's CMC and its officers of an unborn Child

Attention:
Dan Bartlet
The Crime and Misconduct Commission of Queensland in Australia (CMC) headed by John David Hallahan, Michael O'Connor, Dan Bartlet, Ian Thomas
mailbox@cmc.qld.gov.au
attorney@ministerial.qld.gov.au
media_unit@cmc.qld.gov.au

You all will  be proud of yourselves having succeeded in you wish to murder of an unborn child that one of the  CMC's  innocent victim's  was carring, before she was deliberately, callously, cowardly, wrongfully dragged into secret interrgation hearings by yourselves for no useful purpose, other than to help deliberately murder an innocent unborn child that the CMC's  innocent victim was carrying at the time.
The CMC and its officers have stated that they were tapping the CMC's  innocent victim's phone and email for some time when they issued a notice of demand that the CMC's  innocent victim  be cross examined by the CMC at secret interrogation hearings about a subject that she simply knew nothing about, and could not be of any real assistance to what the CMC was investigating.
From listening to the CMC's  innocent victim's telephone conversations and reading her emails, the CMC and its officers clearly knew that that the CMC's  innocent victim was pregnant, when they had their corrupt police officer attend the CMC's  innocent victim's home to wrongly and falsely tell her that. in his and the CMC's oppinion, she was a criminal and was in a lot of trouble, and to serve the demand notice that the CMC's  innocent victim attend on just two days notice to the CMC, to be interrogated at secret hearings where only a high priced laywer at $1,600 a day is allowed to attend with her

A lawyer that the CMC's  innocent victim could not afford. Not many ordinary Australian can afford $1,600 a day for a lawyer to attend the CMC's secret interrogation hearings. As no one other than a lawyer is allowed to attend with an innocent victim of the CMC, the CMC's innocent voctim has no choice but to borrow the money to pay a high proceed lawyer to attend the CMC's secret interrogation hearings with them.
It is a fact that the CMC's  innocent victim spoke on her mobile phone
(which the the CMC officers clearly admitt had been tapped by the CMC for a long time),
on the Monday  and excitedly discussed her pregnacy.
Then the next day, on Tuesday, with the CMC knowing full well the CMC's innocent victim was pregnant, the CMC had a corrupt police officer attend her home to serve the CMC's   demand for the CMC's  innocent victim to be interrogated, about a subject the CMC's  innocent victim knew nothing  about, and could clearly not be of any real assistance to what the CMC was investiagting.
The CMC's  innocent victim's unborn child is now dead, as a direct result of the malicious, deliberate and calculating actions of the CMC and its officers.
Without  the wrongful actions of the CMC and its officers, that unborn child would still be alive today. The attached email warned the CMC and its officers of what they were doing was very wrong and illegal, but they continuted on this wrongful and illegal path to help murder an unborn child.

The INL News Group will now publish this email and information on the world wide web on as many  web sites as possible, and let the world know what these individuals and Queensland's CMC have done.

They all should hang there head in shame for ever.

Their families, friends and associates should be absolutely ashamed of these people, and the world generally, that read this information on the world wide web, will also be horrified of this horrendous crime.
This horrendous crime has also been sanctioned by the Queensland and Australian Governments, who has also been warned, as a copy of the attached email was also sent to the Queensland Attorney General and also the previous Liberal Attorney General of Australia, that has now been removed by the Australian people at the recent 2007 Federal Elections.
The INL News Group will also fund an application in the Internatonal Court of Justice, to have these criminals brought to justice, as there is no doubt these criminals will be protected by their mates in the Australian Courts which is run by judges who are all ex-lawyers.
The CMC is run by Australian lawyers, who also one day could become judges who would then themselves be in the powerful position to protect corrupt laywers running the CMC..
I have been brought up in Africa and have seen some horrendous wrongful things happen, but nothing I have ever seen is as horrendous as what the CMC and its officers and appointed representatives have deleiberately done here, with their involvement of the murder of an innocent unborn child.

yours truly

PATRICK OBI
Managing Editor of the INL News Group

The INL News Group note that, had the CMC's  innocent victim been the daughter of Rupert Murdoch, the most powerful person in the world today, controlling a majority of the world's mainstream media outlets, worth hundreds of billions of dollars, the Queensland's CMC would never had treated the the CMC's  innocent victim in this manner and the CMC's  innocent victim's unborn child would have still been alive today.
This is another example that there is one rule for the rich and powerful, and another rule for an ordinary  innocent victim, trying their best to live a normal and innocent life with their partner and new child due to be born, and find some basic happiness after trying to recover from a serious nervous beakdown in the last five years, which the CMC had full knowledge of, from tapping the the CMC's  innocent victim's telephone and emails for a long time

sa_logo_colour.JPG
Crime and Misconduct Commission

Yes, the CMC protects corrupt police offices who live beyond their means and that can not provide any lawful evidence as to where their funds comes from, in particular large drug dealers that provide funds to support the employees of the Crime and Misconduct Commission to support our expensive life styles.. as the wages that the people of Queensland are simply not enough to pay for all our expensive life styles...

Yes, the CMC supports criminal behavour by police officers in Queensland, in fact anywhere really, as long as they have some sort of police badge we make sure they can continue their criminal behaviour without being harassed in their activities...if anyone tries to expose these criminal activities we have unlimited powers to drag them and/or their families into secret hearings that cost about $2,000 a day to pay a lawyer to attend these hearings with them, as we have made the rules such that only a lawyer can attend with the person we get our corrupt police to drag off the street on only two days notice into these secret hearings.. at the same time we are all paid large salaries by the people of Queensland and the cash we receive on the side from our corrupt police mates and other other criminal mates...

Yes, the CMC supports misconduct as long as it is misconduct by any of our criminal mates  employed in the Police Service and/or another Government Departments or other private criminals that are friends, who are prepared to offer funds to support our expensive life styles that the salaries we obtain from the Queensland Taxpayers do not cover... we specialise in supporting, protecting and encouraging the Queensland and Federal Police and others to import and sell illegal drugs and break and enter houses without a warrant to steal whole housefuls of furniture (as they did in Tallai) and steal the original manuscripts of books such as the Triumph of Truth (Who's Watching the Watchers) that was in the process of being published world wide by International News Limited in books and films and a TV series that would have brought a lot of world wide attention to our criminal behaviour of our corrupt police mates and expose our own criminal activities.. we simply had no choice but to break into that house with the help of our drug taking and selling mates and the Queensland Police, were we suspected this book could be stored.. after all we had to protect our livelihood and our business associates who provide our ability for ourselves to live beyond our means... we at the CMC of course can not be investigated as we are not going to investigate ourselves and we are the only ones with such power... we are simply untouchable and have a very protected monopoly in that regard

Paris Hilton says she will no longer "act dumb."

The reality TV star and relentless publicity-seeker spoke with Barbara Walters by phone Sunday, a day after releasing a statement saying she hoped the media would focus on "more important things" than her 45-day jail sentence, according to ABC News' Web site. "I used to act dumb. ... That act is no longer cute," ABC quoted Hilton as saying.  After spending three days in jail in a reckless driving case, Hilton was briefly released to home confinement Thursday for an undisclosed medical condition. An outraged judge sent her back to jail Friday. She is now housed in the medical ward of a maximum-security detention center. According to ABC News, the call came after Hilton's mother, Kathy, phoned Walters. During the conversation, the 26-year-old socialite called her mom on another line, found out her mother was talking to Walters, and then called Walters collect. All jail inmates are required to call collect. Hilton has been saying that she is changed by her jailhouse experience, and she repeated that theme with Walters: "Now, I would like to make a difference. ... God has given me this new chance."

Paris Hilton cries as she sits in the back of the police car that took her to court Friday.

    Story Highlights

NEW: Paris Hilton led from court screaming
NEW: Judge did not "approve the defendant being released"
    • Hilton served five days in jail before being let out Thursday

LOS ANGELES, California (AP) -- She was taken handcuffed and crying from her home. She was escorted into court disheveled, without makeup, hair askew and face red with tears. Crying out for her mother when she was ordered back to jail, Paris Hilton's cool, glamorous image evaporated Friday as she gave the impression of a little girl lost in a merciless legal system. "It's not right!" shouted the weeping Hilton. "Mom!" she called out to Kathy Hilton, who also was in tears. The 26-year-old hotel heiress tried to move toward her parents but was firmly steered away by two sheriff's deputies, who held her by each arm and hustled her from the courtroom. Superior Court Judge Michael T. Sauer was apparently unmoved by the pleas of Hilton's three lawyers to send her back to home confinement due to an unspecified medical condition. He ordered Hilton returned to a Los Angeles County jail to serve out the remainder of her 45-day sentence for violating probation in an alcohol-related reckless driving case. (Watch the details of Hilton's releaseVideo) The judge gave no explanation for his ruling. But his comments throughout the hearing showed he was affronted by county Sheriff Lee Baca's decision to set aside his instructions and release Hilton after three days in jail to finish her time in the luxury of her Hollywood Hills home. Her lawyers said the reason for her release was an unspecified medical condition. The judge suggested that could be taken care of at jail medical facilities.

    Sheriff hints at psychological problems

The sheriff later hinted at a news conference that Hilton had psychological problems, and said she would be watched in jail "so that there isn't anything that is harmfully done to herself by herself." Following the hearing, Hilton was taken to a correctional treatment center at the downtown Twin Towers jail for medical and psychiatric examination to determine which facility she will be held in, said sheriff's spokesman Steve Whitmore. "She'll be there for at least a couple of days," he said. The sheriff later defended his decision, citing jail crowding (although Hilton was in special unit and did not have a cell mate) and what he termed "severe medical problems." He said he had learned from one of her doctors that she was not taking a certain medication while previously in custody, and that her "inexplicable deterioration" puzzled county psychiatrists. (Watch Hilton enter jail the first timeVideo) Baca also charged that Hilton received a more severe sentence than the usual penalty for such a crime, but said he would not try to overrule Sauer's decision again. "The criminal justice system should not create a football out of Ms. Hilton's status," the sheriff said grimly at a press conference. (Timeline: The Hilton case) After being taken to court in a black-and-white police car, paparazzi sprinting in pursuit and helicopters broadcasting live from above, Hilton entered the courtroom weeping and continued to cry throughout the hearing, which lasted more than an hour. Her blond hair was pulled back in a disheveled knot, in contrast to the glamorous side-swept style in her booking photo from earlier in the week. She was wrapped in a long gray fuzzy sweat shirt over slacks. Her body shook constantly as she dabbed at her eyes. Several times she turned to her parents, seated behind her in the courtroom, and mouthed, "I love you." At one point, she made the sign of the cross and appeared to be praying. Despite being reincarcerated, she could still be released early. Inmates are given a day off their terms for every four days of good behavior, and her days in home detention counted as custody days. It appeared that Friday would count as her sixth day.

    Judge displays irritation at hearing

Friday's hearing was delayed by a misunderstanding. Hilton apparently thought she was going to be able to participate from home by telephone. But the judge, who had not authorized that, angrily denounced a media outlet for spreading that rumor, although a court spokesman also gave that information to news media.  He ordered sheriff's deputies to go to Hilton's home and bring her to court. The process took nearly two hours. Once the hearing began, Sauer was blunt in his criticism of the sheriff for disobeying his orders, which specifically banned home confinement with electronic monitoring. "I at no time condoned the actions of the sheriff and at no time told him I approved the actions," he said. "At no time did I approve the defendant being released from custody to her home." The hearing was requested by the city attorney's office, which had prosecuted Hilton and wanted Baca held in contempt for releasing Hilton despite Sauer's express order that she serve her time in jail. The judge took no action on the contempt request. A member of the county counsel's staff said Baca was willing to come to court with medical personnel. The judge did not take him up on the offer. Assistant City Attorney Dan F. Jeffries argued that Hilton's incarceration was purely up to the judge. "Her release after only three days erodes confidence in the judicial system," he said. Hilton's attorney, Richard Hutton, implored the judge to order a hearing in his chambers to hear testimony about Hilton's medical condition before making a decision. The judge did not respond to that suggestion. The judge interrupted several times to say that he had received a call last Wednesday from an undersheriff informing him that Hilton had a medical condition and that he would submit papers to the judge to consider. He said the papers never arrived. Every few minutes, the judge would interrupt proceedings, state the time on the clock, and note that the papers still had not arrived. He also noted that he had heard that a private psychiatrist visited Hilton in jail, and he wondered if that person played a role in deciding her medical needs. The last attorney to speak was another deputy city attorney, David Bozanich, who declared, "This is a simple case. There was a court. The Sheriff's Department chose to violate that order. There is no ambiguity."

    Failed sobriety test last fall

Hilton's twisted jailhouse saga began September 7, when she failed a sobriety test after police saw her weaving down a street in her Mercedes-Benz on what she said was a late-night hamburger run. (Watch how drunken driving is the bane of celebritiesVideo)  She pleaded no contest to reckless driving and was sentenced to 36 months' probation, alcohol education and $1,500 in fines. In the months that followed she was stopped twice while driving on a suspended license. The second stop landed her in Sauer's courtroom. Back before Sauer on Friday, Hilton's entire body trembled as the final pitch was made for her further incarceration. She clutched a ball of tissue and tears ran down her face. Seconds later, the judge announced his decision: "The defendant is remanded to county jail to serve the remainder of her 45-day sentence. This order is forthwith."

    Hilton screamed.

Eight deputies immediately ordered all spectators out of the courtroom. Hilton's mother, Kathy, threw her arms around her husband, Rick, and sobbed uncontrollably.Deputies escorted Hilton out of the room, holding each of her arms as she looked back.

Real Estate Sky Won't Fall: Here's Why
    Jun 07, 2007, 12:07 pm PDT

Real estate hasn't made much of a case for itself lately and it's not getting much help from any of the sub industries, such as builders and mortgage makers. Just in the past few weeks, so called experts from the mortgage industry, the building industry, and the resale real estate industry have all been quoted as saying that the sky is falling.

    Nice job guys!

And while real estate's reputation as the number one investment is on the ropes, the general media and other investment categories have stepped up their attacks on real estate value.

What do you need to know?

    1. The Sky isn't falling.

The real estate market always fluctuates.

Real estate sales prices are largely determined by the principal of substitution and reflect the uniqueness of the property, at a specific point in time, competing against only those other similar properties that happen to be available for sale, at that point in time.

If there are many similar homes available at that time, there will be downward pressure on sales prices. As an expanding population absorbs the excess, competition for a dwindling resource will cause selling prices to escalate.

    1. Real estate is unique.

There's a reason that homes and real estate aren't traded like commodities on the Chicago Mercantile. They are too dissimilar. Even each tract home has a somewhat different location, orientation, lot dimension, proximity, and view.

    1. There is no bubble.

The value of real estate isn't driven by speculation; it's driven by its utility. If the economy moves away, such as in the rust-belt, that utility may decline. If high paying jobs are headed into a region, the value of the scarcest of all commodities, real estate will rise.

Increasing development costs absolutely guarantee that new construction will cost more than existing properties are selling for.

This factor alone has caused many developers to mothball projects in the pipeline until shortages again push prices up.

    1. Value is a complicated cocktail.

Assessed value, appraised value, market value, replacement value, and selling price all mean something different. When the media says that real estate values are falling, they really mean that the prices people paid for a small number of homes, last month, was less than what a different group of people paid for a different assortment the month before.

    1. There is always a baseline of demand.

An increasing population must be housed. There is a natural ebb and flow, not a boom bust. At various times, demand outstrips supply; supply is increased until the surge recedes to baseline or below.

    1. There is always a baseline of mortgage defaults.

There will always be unforeseen circumstances that will bring some homeowners into default. Even in good economic times. And even with good mortgage loans. In an appreciating market, they are able to sell in a short period of time. So, in most markets, foreclosure activity has been below the historic baseline.

Now, it could increase, spiking a little to reflect those who can no longer survive on increasing equity and then may level out at baseline again. When the next rapid appreciation cycle begins, and it almost assuredly will, rates may fall back below the newly adjusted baseline.

    1. There is no risk.

Save the term risk for high stakes poker in Vegas.

Buying real estate isn't inherently risky. But it isn't a get-rich-quick scheme, either. It's a formula for building long term wealth.

    1. Real estate is a great way to build wealth.

You have to live somewhere. If you rent, you are making some or all of someone else's mortgage payment. But even if you have to work two jobs and barely scrape by to make your own mortgage payment, you are building equity that over time will be quite substantial.

So, perhaps, don't believe every "the sky if falling" report or article. Educate yourself on the market and happy wealth homeowning!

    Key witness 'saw Madeleine'
A woman who saw Madeleine McCann being carried off in the arms of a mystery man is wracked with guilt that she did nothing to stop him, it has emerged.  A close friend of Kate and Gerry McCann, she saw a young blonde girl wearing "distinguishable" pyjamas and wrapped in a blanket. Described as the "principal witness" in the case by police sources, the woman has now returned to the UK and is brooding over what she saw. But the McCanns, from Rothley in Leicestershire, are said not to blame her and feel sorry for her torment. Details of the sighting came as hundreds of calls were made to police about the description of a white man aged between 35 and 40 seen holding what was thought to be a child on the night Madeleine disappeared. She was snatched from her bed on May 3 as she slept in the family's holiday apartment while her parents enjoyed a tapas meal yards away in the Algarve resort town of Praia Da Luz. The witness, who has been advised by police not to discuss events of that night, joined the McCanns at dinner at about 9.30pm. As she walked past the family's property, she saw a man with a child wearing pink pyjamas in his arms. "She thought it was odd, but thought it was the man's own child," the police source said. "He was walking urgently, neither running or walking." After the alarm was raised, the friend "instantly" realised what she had seen and gave a statement and description to the authorities "within hours". But sources said the significance was missed: "The officers who took the description did not seem interested, they just seemed to have filed it away. She went back to the UK and Leicestershire police said she was the principal witness to what happened," the source said. "The view of the family is that this was Madeleine being taken. As a result they do not blame the woman, but she feels dreadful guilt. They feel sorry for her."

    Pope To Meet Madeleine's Parents
    By Sky News SkyNews -
The Pope has agreed to meet the parents of missing four-year-old Madeleine McCann
Gerry and Kate McCann, who are both Roman Catholics, had made a request to meet Benedict XVI through church authorities in London. The couple have regularly been seen attending Mass in Portugal since their daughter was abducted from the apartment they were staying in on May 3. They also visited one of the country's holiest shrines, at Fatima. Sky's Ashish Joshi, in the resort of Praia da Luz, said the McCanns could have an audience with the Pope as early as Wednesday. He said: "They clearly need spiritual guidance at a time of great distress. "They will be introduced to the Holy Father, who has been well aware of their plight. He's been following the case of Madeleine's disappearance over the past three weeks. "It's a general audience but it's highly unusual. "It also serves another purpose - it keeps Madeleine's plight in the consciousness of Europeans. The McCanns don't want to make any further statements on Madeleine's disappearance. They want to let the Portuguese police get on with their work." The Vatican had earlier said that if it received a request from the McCanns to meet the head of the Roman Catholic Church, it would accept. The Pope has agreed to meet the parents of missing four-year-old Madeleine McCann.

Missing Boy Mum Praises McCann Campaign
By Sky News SkyNews - Sunday, May 27

The mother of a toddler who went missing on a holiday island 16 years ago has given Sky News a message of support for Gerry and Kate McCann in their search for Madeleine.  Kerry Grist, whose son Ben Needham disappeared on the Greek island of Kos in 1991 and has never been found, said to the McCanns: "Carry on doing what you're doing. You're doing a really good job. "I feel so much for Gerry and Kate and the trauma they're going through." In an emotional interview with Sky, Ms Grist said she had never given up hope that her son, who was 21 months old when he vanished, is still alive. She said she made the decision only three years ago to carry on as normal a life as possible. "Because you've got other children around you and people who need you, you have to snap yourself out of that depression," she said. She said she had been living on an emotional rollercoaster since Ben's disappearance. "It's a living nightmare," she said. But the focus on Madeleine's abduction has put her own loss back in the spotlight and is helping her efforts, she said. "The Madeleine campaign has helped the Ben campaign. It's taken another child that's been abducted that's made people aware that Ben's still out there. "I'm going to continue looking, continue living and continue searching." She said Mr and Mrs McCann should never give up their search or their campaign. "I see the strength in their faces," she said.

Madeleine parents hope to meet Pope

The four-year-old has been missing for 24 days after she was snatched from her bed in the Algarve resort of Praia da Luz on May 3.

Her parents Gerry and Kate, both 38, have made repeated appeals for information and forced the Portuguese police - who do not normally reveal any information about a case - to back down and give the suspect's description to the public.

The change in attitude came after discussions between Mr McCann and Chancellor Gordon Brown earlier this week. On Sunday, the Policia Judiciaria (PJ) said most of the calls related to the description released on Friday.

A white man aged between 35 and 40 was seen by a female friend of the McCanns near the apartment, holding what was thought to be a child at around 9.30pm on the night Madeleine disappeared. It is understood he was only seen from behind and it was not clear in which direction he was heading.

Spokesman Olegario Sousa told Portuguese paper Correio da Manha: "The parents of Madeleine had already asked us to reveal the details which could help in the investigation. The release of the description was authorised by the ministerio publico (public prosecutor)."

A number of sightings have been reported, including 72-year-old Jose Francisco who came forward on Saturday, claiming to have seen a couple with a young child behaving strangely near Luz.

He told the Jornal de Noticias: "A couple with a girl inside a car went the wrong way down a one way street and made many dangerous manoeuvres."

On Sunday the McCanns attended the regular church service in the town.

The number of hits on the find Madeleine website has now risen to 128 million.

Missing Madeleine's parents believe lead is 'significant'

    AFP - Sunday, May 27 10:49 am

LONDON (AFP) - The parents of a four-year-old British girl who disappeared while on a family holiday in Portugal said Saturday that they believed a sighting of a possible suspect was "significant and relevant."

Madeleine McCann vanished from the southern Algarve holiday resort of Praia da Luz three weeks ago and police said Friday they wanted to find a man spotted with what appeared to be a child in his arms on the night she was taken.

Her father Gerry, standing alongside wife Kate in the town, said in a televised statement: "We feel sure that this sighting of a man with what appeared to be a child in his arms is both significant and relevant to Madeleine's abduction and we would appeal once again to anyone who may have seen him or anything else suspicious on or around May 3 to come forward and tell police.

"For instance, was this man seen anywhere else in or near the town with a child or what appeared to be a child, what direction was he heading in, did he have a vehicle?"

The man is described as 35 to 40 years old with short hair on top which was long at the back. He was wearing a dark jacket and light trousers.

Meanwhile, it emerged that Gerry McCann had spoken directly to British prime minister-in-waiting Gordon Brown in recent days.

In comments quoted by the BBC online, a family spokesman said: "I can confirm that telephone conversations have taken place between Gerry McCann and Chancellor Gordon Brown.

"During them, Mr. Brown offered both Gerry and Kate his full support in their efforts to find Madeleine, although details of the conversations will remain private."

Brown had previously offered assistance in the case when he met family members in Britain.

The Observer weekly added that the Portuguese authorities, who are bound by strict secrecy laws, reversed their longstanding refusal to release details of the possible suspect after Brown asked the Foreign Office to put pressure on them.

Prince Charles and his wife Camilla said they had been following the McCann case "closely and with deep concern" and "fervently hoped" she would be found safe and sound, according to aides in London.

Their remarks were the latest in a series of high-profile messages of support for the family.

Entrepreneur Sir Richard Branson, footballer Wayne Rooney and Harry Potter author JK Rowling have all offered financial rewards for information leading to her safe return.

The parents of missing Madeleine McCann are hoping to meet the Pope to discuss the plight of their daughter, their spokesman has said.  Kate and Gerry McCann, both strong Catholics, are expected to attend a general audience in Rome on Wednesday. It will be the start of a series of visits the couple are planning to make around Europe. They are very keen to keep Madeleine's case in the public eye in the hope that she may still be found. It is 24 days since she was taken from her bed as she slept in the family's holiday apartment in Praia da Luz, Algarve. Clarence Mitchell, the Foreign Office liaison officer for the family, is helping the McCanns plan the trip. "I can confirm that approaches have been made to Cardinal Cormac Murphy-O'Connor and to the British ambassador to the Holy See and we are certainly exploring the possibility of Gerry and Kate McCann visiting Rome to meet the Pope in the near future," he said. According to Vatican protocol, the family had to express a desire to go to Rome before the trip could be finally approved. Representatives of the Pope were said to be very "receptive" to the idea of a meeting. Mr and Mrs McCann have been offered the use of a private plane to make the trip by a multi-million pound British entrepreneur.

    • Don Lorenzo celebrates a Tridentine Mass at Gesu e Maria Church in central Rome in this April 29, 2007 photo. When the Second Vatican Council ended in 1965, one of the most radical changes that ensued was the reform of the 16th century Tridentine Mass, celebrated in Latin, into the modern liturgy used today in the vernacular. Progressives hailed the change as a real and symbolic break from the past that Vatican II represented to them. Traditionalists balked at it — and a few eventually got themselves excommunicated for holding too fast to tradition and straying from the Vatican's line. Pope Benedict XVI is expected to reach out to these disaffected traditionalists by liberalizing the use of the Tridentine Mass, reviving a rite that was all but swept away by the momentous 1962-65 meetings that modernized the Roman Catholic Church. After a few years working on the temporary workers program in the United States, Gustavo was able to build a house and buy a truck with the money he earned. Supplying the U.S. guestworker program is a complicated and sometimes criminal network of foreign recruiters who extort money from poor migrants and then keep them on the job by forcing them into debt or threatening their families back home. Bid to save whales drags into 3rd week AP - Sun May 27, 6:27 AM ET

RIO VISTA, Calif. - Everyone seems to have a suggestion to get two wayward whales lingering in the Sacramento River to swim 70 miles back to the Pacific Ocean. One person suggested towing life-sized replicas of orcas behind the whales to scare the recalcitrant mother humpback and her calf. Another proposed placing a giant magnet downriver, since humpbacks are thought to navigate by an internal compass that can sense magnetic north.
