The Passion of the Christ-The Plot
The Passion of the Christ begins in medias res in the Garden of Gethsemane, on the Mount of Olives, with Jesus Christ agonizing over his impending death, while Satan tempts him to [2] abandon the idea that one man can redeem the sins of the World.
Meanwhile, at the Temple, Judas Iscariot meets with the Sanhedrin. The High Priest Yosef Caiaphas pays him thirty silver coins for Jesus's whereabouts, as they have previously agreed. Judas leads the Temple guards to the garden and identifies Jesus with a kiss. Peter attacks and cuts off the right ear of Malchus, who is revealed in the New Testament to be a servant of the high priest. However, Jesus rebukes Peter and heals the wound. The Apostles flee and the guards chain Jesus up and haul Him away. Meanwhile, Malchus remains kneeling in the Garden, amazed and deeply touched by what has just happened.
Meanwhile, Jesus's mother, the Blessed Virgin, awakens from a nightmare; Mary Magdalene asks whether she is all right. Certain that something is wrong, Mary quotes the prayers of the Passover seder, Why is this night different than other nights?; Mary Magdalene replies, Because once we were slaves and we are slaves no longer. Suddenly, John arrives, explaining Jesus has been arrested.
Jesus is brutally beaten as the guards take him to the Temple. Judas looks on with bitter shame as the Temple guards cast Jesus off a bridge over the brook of Cedron; a demon appears and frightens Judas, who runs away.
Jesus sees Mary, Mary Magdalene, Peter, and John watching Him as He reaches the Temple. A formal trial begins, as witnesses denounce everything Jesus has taught, including being King of the Jews. Suddenly, Nicodemus and Joseph of Arimathea stand up and denounce the proceedings, declaring that all they have heard is contradictory testimony. They are forcibly ejected by adherents of Caiaphas, as other Temple priests, equally disgusted by the proceedings, follow them out.
When Caiaphas finally addresses him and asks if the accusations are true, Jesus pronounces the ineffable Name of God, adding that they will see Him sitting at the Right Hand of the Father. Caiaphas screams and rends his garments in mourning. He declares that, as all have heard Jesus' "blasphemy," no further witnesses are needed. The other priests beat Jesus and spit in his face. He is formally condemned to death.
Peter attempts to flee, but is seized by spectators who identify him as one of Jesus' disciples. Peter indignantly denies it three times. But as Jesus turns around and bores into him with his one open eye, Peter realizes that Jesus' prophecy at the Last Supper has come to pass. He is overwhelmed with shame and rejects the Blessed Virgin's attempts to comfort him. He flees in tears, bewailing what he has done.
Meanwhile, Judas returns to Caiaphas, pleading for Jesus's release. He declares that he has sinned by betraying innocent blood. Caiaphas, however, refuses to take the money back, declaring that if Judas believes in Jesus' innocence, it is his problem. He demands that Judas take the money and leave. Judas angrily casts the money on the Temple floor and flees in despair. Later, two children approach and ask what's wrong; when they continue pestering him Judas swears at them. Suddenly, they are revealed as demons. With Satan among them, they hound him far beyond the city walls. During a respite from their torments, Judas encounters a dead donkey being eaten by maggots. Succumbing to despair he takes the donkey's rope and hangs himself from a tree.
Meanwhile, the priests have taken Jesus to Pontius Pilate, so that he may be crucified under Roman Law. An indignant Pilate demands to know whether the Temple authorities always punish their prisoners before trial. Caiaphas responds that Jesus has broken the Sabbath and the Temple Laws. Realizing that Pilate does not care, Annas announces that Jesus has declared himself the Messiah. Knowing this is a serious matter, Pilate privately interrogates Jesus, asking whether He is the King of the Jews. Jesus replies, "My Kingdom is not of this world," adding that if it were, His servants would never have allowed Him to be arrested. He also states that all who hear the truth hear His voice. Pilate cynically retorts, "What is truth?"
Pilate addresses the priests, saying he finds no crime in Jesus. Reminding them that Jesus is a subject of King Herod Ántipas, Pilate orders Caiaphas to bring him to Herod's palace. Caiaphas recoils, but grudgingly obeys. King Herod, an effeminate bisexual, is excited by reports of Jesus's miracles. When Jesus remains silent to his pleas to work "a little miracle for me", Herod laughs. He orders them to, "Get this stupid fool out of my sight!" He adds that Jesus is not a criminal, He is "just crazy".
Meanwhile, Pilate begs his wife, Claudia Procles, to tell him how to recognise Truth. She shakes her head, saying that no one can tell him the truth if he will not listen to it. A terrified Pilate describes the truth as he sees it. Another revolt in his Province will destroy his career and possibly lead Emperor Tiberius to execute him. Pilate is certain that if he releases Jesus, Caiaphas and the Temple priests will start a rebellion, yet, if he condemns Him to death, Jesus' followers will do the exact same thing. Suddenly, the Centurion Abenader (later St. Ctesiphon) arrives, saying that Herod did nothing to the man and that the priests are bringing Him back. When the priests return Jesus to Pilate, he is displeased, and forces Caiaphas to choose between freeing "a notorious murderer" named Barabbas (Pietro "Pedro" Sarubbi) or clemency for Jesus. Seething with hatred, Caiaphas screams, "Release Barabbas!" The crowd which he has bought and paid for immediately takes up the same cry.
When Pilate demands to know what would be fair punishment for Jesus, Caiaphas screams, "Crucify him!" Pilate indignantly refuses, instead ordering Jesus to be flogged, hoping that this will defuse Caiaphas' desire for the death penalty. Jesus is shackled to a broken pillar; two soldiers flog him with a switch, as their commander smiles proudly at the efficiency of his men. To the shock of his exhausted floggers, Jesus rises to his feet. Feeling their crediblity is on the line, the floggers brutally rend Jesus' flesh with barbed scourges until his ribs show and nearly loses consciousness. Suddenly, the Centurion Abenader arrives and angrily orders them to stop the flogging, saying that their orders were not to scourge Him to death. The soldiers drag Jesus away by His arms.
Pilate's wife, Claudia Procles, approaches the Virgin Mary and Mary Magdalene, giving them linen towels. THey kneel in the courtyard and mop up His blood.
Later, a group of drunken Roman soldiers drive a crown of thorns into Jesus's scalp. They spit wine on him and clothe him in a soldier's red cloak, and giving Him a reed as a scepter. They treat Him with mock royal homage, bowing and saying, "Hail, King of the Worms!" One of them grabs the reed and strikes Him over the head, driving the thorns even deeper into his scalp.
Jesus is then returned to Pilate, who is shocked by the sight of His tortured body; he asks the crowd if they are satisfied. Caiaphas, however, still demands crucifixion. Disgusted and out of options, Pilate literally washes his hands of the whole business, declaring, "I am innocent of this man's blood." He orders Abenader to, "Do as they wish."
The condemned Christ must carry His cross between two other criminals sentenced to crucifixion. He embraces it, prompting scorn from one of the thieves. As He carries his cross through the streets of Jerusalem, the soldiers beat him and the crowd taunt him. The Virgin Mary, Mary Magdalene, and John follow. When He falls under the weight of the cross, His Mother runs to Him, flashing back to a time when He fell as a child. She sobs, "I'm here!" He gasps, "Behold, Mother, I make all things new." He wills Himself to his feet, lifts up the cross, and continues on the Via Dolorosa.
Later, when He falls again, Abenader approaches, ordering the soldiers to help Jesus. Instead, they take a man from the crowd, Simon of Cyrene, who grudgingly agrees.
When Jesus Falls the Third Time; Simon cannot bear the cross's weight; the crowd battles with the soldiers for a chance to beat Jesus. Roman soldiers repel them, and Saint Veronica approaches Jesus with a cloth and a pitcher of water. Jesus wipes his face and tries to drink; a soldier kicks over the cup and drives her away. Later, it is revealed that her cloth, Veronica's Veil, has been imprinted with the image of His face.
When the soldiers continue whipping Jesus; Simon screams at them to stop, threatening to not to carry His cross another step if they refuse. They treat him with open contempt, but grudgingly oblige. The procession continues to Golgotha, "The Place of the Skull". There, Simon is ordered away, as he looks into Jesus one open eye with love and pity.
Meanwhile, Jesus is stretched onto and then nailed to the cross. He pleads for mercy for the Sinners of the World, saying that they do not know what they are doing. The cross is then raised.
Caiaphas and the priests mock the crucified Christ, saying that He vowed to destroy and rebuild the Temple in three days. He declared, "If he is the Son of God I say, let him come down from that cross!" Jesus gasps, "Father, forgive them, they know not what they do". The Good Thief tells Caiaphas, "Listen, He prays for you." He then tells Jesus his punishment is just, and that Jesus would be justified in condemning him, then says, "Lord, remember me when you come into your Kingdom." Jesus replies, "On this day, you will be with me in Paradise". As the other Thief laughs at them, a crow flies down and pecks his eye out.
Jesus weakens; the sky darkens. Mary and John approach the crucified Jesus; he declares, "I thirst!" A sympathetic soldier named Cassius, (later St. Longinus), impales a vinegar-soaked sponge on a spear and reaches it to him; tasting it, Jesus turns away. The Virgin Mary pleads with Jesus to let her die with him, but He tells her that St. John will take care of her. He tells John that Mary is now his mother. Jesus cries, "My God! My God! Why have you forsaken me?" Then, looking down at them, says, "It is accomplished". Mary Magdalene weeps. Gasping, Jesus looks up, saying, "Father, into your hands I commend my spirit." His one eye dilates and He exhales His last breath.
An earthquake occurs; the spectators flee. The soldiers break the crucified criminals' legs to hasten their deaths. When Cassius is about to break those of Jesus, there is another rumble from the earth. Cassius responds that Jesus is already dead. Abenader orders him to, "Make sure", and casts him a lance. As Cassius drives it into Jesus' side; blood and water pour from the wound. As the blood lands on his face, Cassius falls to his knees in awe. All the soldiers present suddenly understand that they have killed the Son of God and flee in terror.
Elsewhere, the earthquake breaks the Temple in half, exposing the Holy of Holies; a horrified Caiaphas sobs. Meanwhile in Hell, Satan screams in impotent rage, knowing his power is forever broken.
That night, Jesus is lowered from the cross; Mary embraces the body of her Son and gives him a last kiss. She stares blankly forward, her eyes a mirror of her broken heart.
Three days later, the morning light of Easter Sunday illuminates the empty burial shroud in Jesus' tomb. The Resurrected Christ stands up and his wounded hands are visible. He walks out of the Tomb to triumphant music and the credits roll.

I met this young Black Swan couple about two years ago. They took care of one baby at that time and had hard time when the baby due to leave from parents.
Mother is always very sweet care and father is quite strict. Baby did not want to leave from parents. Father started force to drive away the child.
Then baby stuck to mother always. They started to go another pond near by and get back, sometimes with three together. Nearly one week later, almost dusk of one day,
While child swan was a little bit far away, parents suddenly flew away to leave the child alone behind. After this, the child was crying to wish finding parents.
Accidentally I saw this scene, I fed bread and few hours stayed together. Next morning I went to see the child but there is not. Then I went to original place
The child was there with mother. I think the child flew back at dawn. The child completely disappeared after few weeks from this happening.
Last year the couple had 5 babies at first. 2 disappeared in one to two weeks. Some body said it might be eaten by big eel.
They brought up with really tender care of three children and two children left the nest at first, almost one month later the other one disappeared. This baby black swan was born early January. I named the baby“Rosy”, wishful for peace in the world as prayer of the New Year.

YouTube (pronounced /ju?tu?b/ or /ju?tju?b/[1]) is a video sharing website where users can upload, view and share video clips. YouTube was created in mid-February 2005 by three former PayPal employees.[2] The San Bruno-based service uses Adobe Flash technology to display a wide variety of video content, including movie clips, TV clips and music videos, as well as amateur content such as videoblogging and short original videos. In October 2006, Google Inc. announced that it had reached a deal to acquire the company for US$1.65 billion in Google stock. The deal closed on November 13, 2006.[3]
Unregistered users can watch most videos on the site, while registered users are permitted to upload an unlimited number of videos. Some videos are available only to users of age 18 or older (e.g. videos containing potentially offensive content). The uploading of pornography or videos containing nudity is prohibited. Related videos, determined by title and tags, appear onscreen to the right of a given video. In YouTube's second year, functions were added to enhance user ability to post video 'responses' and subscribe to content feeds.
Few statistics are publicly available regarding the number of videos on YouTube. However, in July 2006, the company revealed that more than 100 million videos were being watched every day, and 2.5 billion videos were watched in June 2006. 50,000 videos were being added per day in May 2006, and this increased to 65,000 by July.[4]
In August 2006, The Wall Street Journal published an article revealing that YouTube was hosting about 6.1 million videos (requiring about 45 terabytes of storage space), and had about 500,000 user accounts.[5] As of December 28, 2007, a YouTube search for "*" returns about 61,200,000 (mostly likely more) videos (the asterisk is a commonly-used wildcard character in search engines, therefore showing all videos).

YouTube's immense success has unintentionally affected the business of an American company, Universal Tube & Rollform Equipment Corp., whose website, utube.com, has been frequently overloaded and shut down by extremely high numbers of visitors unsure about the spelling of YouTube's domain name.[6] At the beginning of November 2006, Universal Tube filed suit in federal court against YouTube,[7] requesting that the youtube.com domain be transferred to them.[8]
Political candidates for the 2008 U.S. Presidential election have been using YouTube as an outlet for advertising their candidacies. Voters can view candidate statements and make videos supporting (or opposing) presidential candidates (e.g., videos for Ron Paul, Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, and Joe Biden).[9] [10] Third Party presidential candidates have also made extensive use of YouTube. Libertarian Steve Kubby's campaign debuted a short animated film, featuring the faces and voices of campaign contributors who financed its production, on YouTube on September 29th, 2007.[11] The U.S. media has often commented that YouTube played a significant role in the 2006 defeat of Republican Senator George Allen due to a video clip of him making allegedly racist remarks that was continuously replayed by YouTube viewers during the campaign.[12] [13] [14] [15] [16] Political commentators such as James Kotecki have also joined the YouTube world of politics. Many commentators make videos on YouTube critiquing a presidential candidate's YouTube videos, or simply using YouTube as a medium to get their opinions heard. Recently, French and Italian politicians, such as Antonio Di Pietro, have also been using the site as part of their campaigns. YouTube has also been used by Australian Prime Minister John Howard in the lead up to the 2007 federal election. In the run up to the 2008 Presidential elections, CNN aired a debate in which candidates fielded questions selected from a pool submitted by users of YouTube. Because of the use of technology to aggregate questions from a wide range of constituents, the forum has been referred to as "most democratic Presidential Debate ever"[17].
CNN-YouTube Presidential DebatesCopyright infringement and controversial material
Technical notes As of November 2007 YouTube plays back videos limited in both size and quality. The size is limited to pixel dimensions of 320 by 240 and the quality is limited to a bitrate of around 314kbit/s with a frame rate dependent on the uploaded video.[65]YouTube limits the playback size and quality by re-encoding the user's uploaded video at the time of upload. In 2006 YouTube permitted playback at higher quality, larger sizes, and in stereo, but some time after January 2007 YouTube applied quality reductions to new uploads.[66] YouTube's video playback technology is based on Macromedia's Flash Player 7 and uses the Sorenson Spark H.263 video codec. This technology allows the site to display videos with quality comparable to more established video playback technologies (such as Windows Media Player, QuickTime and RealPlayer) that generally require the user to download and install a web browser plugin in order to view video. Flash also requires a plug-in, but Adobe considers the Flash 7 plug-in to be present on approximately 90% of online computers.[67] The video can also be played back with third-party media players such as GOM Player, gnash, VLC as well as some ffmpeg-based video players. YouTube converts videos into .FLV (Adobe Flash Video) format after uploading.[68] The extension is then stripped from the file (Extension can be found again with TrID[citation needed] or from the server's MIME Type). The different files are stored in obscurely named subdomains, accessible either directly or through YouTube's get_video PHP script. YouTube also converts content to other formats so that it can be viewed outside of the website. See below. YouTube officially accepts uploaded videos in .WMV, .AVI, .MOV, MPEG and .MP4, formats[69] Users can view videos in windowed mode or full screen mode and it is possible to switch modes during playback without reloading it due to the full-screen function of Adobe Flash Player 9. YouTube files contain an MP3 audio stream. By default, it is mono-encoding with a 65kbit/s rate at 22050 Hz. However, it is possible to get a stereo audio track if the movie file is manually converted to FLV format using a program such as ffmpeg for Linux, ffmpegX for Macintosh or the commercial Riva FLV Encoder for Windows. As noted above, YouTube accepts common file formats and converts them to the H.263 variant of Flash Video, and makes them available for online viewing. Beginning in June 2007, newly uploaded videos will also be encoded using the H.264 video standard to enable streaming of YouTube videos on the Apple TV and the iPhone. Apple Inc. announced on 20 June 2007 that YouTube is accessible on the Apple TV after installation of a free software update. Functionality includes browsing by category, searching videos, and the ability for members to log onto their YouTube accounts directly on Apple TV. Access to thousands of the most current and popular YouTube videos will be available, with plans to add thousands more videos each week. The entire catalog is targeted to be available in fall 2007. According to Apple VP David Moody, the reason for the delay is the need for all current YouTube content to be transcoded to Apple's preferred video standard, H.264. All content uploaded in and after June, however, will be automatically encoded into H.264, rendering additional transcoding unnecessary for these newer files. YouTube launched its mobile site, YouTube Mobile on 15 June 2007. It is based on xHTML and uses 3GP videos with H263/AMR codec and RTSP streaming. YouTube TV Channel will on Information TV 2 on January 7, 2008. The channel will air video sharing content from the YouTube website. Apple announced Wednesday, 20 June 2007 that YouTube would be available on iPhone at launch. Streaming is over WiFi or EDGE. Videos on YouTube for the iPhone are encoded in Apple's preferred H.264 format. All videos are viewed in the horizontal orientation of the phone. As YouTube videos have 4:3 aspect ratio and the iPhone is 3:2, videos must be viewed with black bars on the side (pillarboxed) or may be zoomed to trim some of the top and bottom to fill the screen. Not all videos are available on iPhone yet because not every video has been reencoded to H.264. There are two versions of each video on YouTube, one is higher bandwidth for WiFi use, and one is lower resolution for EDGE use. Unlike the Apple TV version, users cannot log in to their own YouTube accounts, but can create a separate favorites list just for the iPhone. Each video is accompanied by the full HTML markup for linking to it and/or embedding it within another page, unless the submitter of a video chooses to disable the embedding feature. A small addition to the embeddable markup will allow the video to play automatically when the webpage loads. These simple cut-and-paste options are especially popular with users of social-networking sites. Poor experiences, however, have been cited by users of such sites,[70] where autoplaying embedded YouTube videos has been reported to slow down page loading time or even to crash internet browsers. The YouTube Player is the name of another embeddable applet (with a different interface), designed for browsing YouTube videos on an iGoogle homepage. YouTube itself does not make it easy to download and save videos for offline viewing or editing nor for viewing in external players, but several third-party web sites, applications, browser extensions (such as Firefox extensions) exist for that purpose. Alternatively, most .flv files can be copied from the 'Temporary Internet Files' folder in Windows, or the /tmp directory in GNU systems, to a permanent folder. The .flv files can then be viewed and edited directly or converted to other formats using various applications. On June 18, 2007, YouTube launched its online video editing tool, YouTube Remixer. The tool allows users to edit their YouTube videos online, although the editing tools are very limited. Members of YouTube.com are offered to be a part of groups called "Channel Types" that make their channel more distinctive. The types are: YouTube's popularity has led to the creation of many YouTube Internet celebrities, popular individuals who have attracted much publicity in their home countries (and sometimes world renown) due to their videos.[71] The most subscribed YouTube member, as of October 18, 2007, is Smosh.[72] For some users, Internet fame has led to unexpected results and, in some cases, crossovers into traditional media or entertainment avenues. Former receptionist Brooke Brodack (Brookers) from Connecticut has been signed by NBC's Carson Daly for an 18-month development contract in June 2006; Brodack was among the first individuals to transition into mainstream media through YouTube.[73][74] Another discovery was the uncovered fictitious blog of lonelygirl15, now known to be the creation of New Zealand actress Jessica Rose and some film directors. In 2007, a Dutch vocalist and songwriter named Esmée Denters (esmeedenters) was signed to a recording contract by Billy Mann based on her YouTube performances.[75][76] On January 31, 2007, Fox announced that Lisa Donovan (LisaNova) would appear as a cast member during the 12th season of its sketch comedy show MADtv.[77] Terra Naomi (terranaomi) has been signed with Island Records, a division of the Universal Music Group, one of the Big Four record labels. Brandon Hardesty (ArtieTSMITW), known for a popular reenactment series among his work, is currently in a GEICO television commercial[78] running nationally in the U.S. and it consists mostly of a segment taken from his Strange Faces and Noises I Can Make III video. Brandon has also been contracted by an agent and was hired for a role in the independent film, Bart Got a Room.[79] Ysabella Brave (ysabellabrave and ysabellabravetalk) announced in two videos on June 3, 2007, in connection with a Los Angeles Times feature article[80] about her on the same day, that she has been signed by Cordless Recordings, a division of the Warner Music Group, also one of the four major records labels. TheReceptionist announced in a video on July 9, 2007 that he will be providing content for Comedy Central's website.[81] Daniel Geduld (everyonesvoice) now works in the voice-over business and he credits his discovery to his popular Skeletor remixes, which change an originally serious animation series into comedy.[82] SamProof appeared on November 18th, 2007on Adult Swim's Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job![83] YouTube has also become a means of promoting bands and their music. One such example is OK Go which got a huge radio hit and an MTV Video Music Awards performance out of the treadmill video for Here It Goes Again.[84][85] In the same light, a video broadcasting the Free Hugs Campaign with accompanying music by the Sick Puppies led to instant fame for both the band and the campaign, with more campaigns taking place in different parts of the world. The main character of the video, Juan Mann has also achieved fame, being interviewed on Australian news programs, even appearing on The Oprah Winfrey Show.[86] Singer-songwriter Tay Zonday's video of "Chocolate Rain" had such play that it led to a music video promoting a Dr Pepper product. It has been suggested that YouTube Partnership Program be merged into this article or section. (Discuss)
In May 2007, YouTube invited some of its most viewed users to become "YouTube Partners." This exclusive status, previously only offered to commercial content providers, allows users to earn revenue from advertisements placed next to videos.[88] Participants include Ben Going (boh3m3), Paul Robinett (renetto), Lisa Donovan (LisaNova), Jessica Rose (lonelygirl15), Kevin Nalty (Nalts) Tony Huynh (thewinekone), Brandon Hardesty (ArtieTSMITW), and Yousef Abu-Taleb (Danielbeast), among the 100 partners.[89]
YouTubers periodically hold public gatherings to celebrate the video sharing community.[90] One of the earliest of such gatherings, the recurrent and international As One, was first held in January 2007 in Hollywood, California by Cory Williams of smpfilms. The second As One, also hosted by Cory Williams, was held on February 17, 2007 at Pier 39 in San Francisco, California, managed to attract many of YouTube's highest viewed individuals.[91] Notable attendees included: Caitlin Hill; Ben Going; and Yousef Abu-Taleb, the actor who plays DanielBeast in the YouTube serial lonelygirl15. A third gathering took place on July 7, 2007, at Washington Square Park in New York City. A singing invitation to the event, posted on YouTube by Christine Gambito, YouTube's Happyslip, gained over 2.6 million views.[92] Notable attendees included: Brooke Brodack; Caitlin Hill; Philip DeFranco aka "sxephil"; Charles Trippy; wpgpeanut; and Kevin Nalty. Yet another took place in Washington D.C. on September 8, 2007. Another two gatherings are planed by smpfilms at the beginning of 2008.[93]
Before being purchased by Google, YouTube declared that its business model was advertisement-based, making 15 million dollars per month. Some industry commentators have speculated that YouTube's running costs — specifically the bandwidth required — may be as high as 5 to 6 million USD per month,[94] thereby fueling criticisms that the company, like many Internet startups, did not have a viably implemented business model. Advertisements were launched on the site beginning in March 2006. In April, YouTube started using Google AdSense[citation needed]. YouTube subsequently stopped using AdSense but has resumed in local regions.
Advertising is YouTube's central mechanism for gaining revenue. This issue has also been taken up in scientific analysis. Don Tapscott and Anthony D. Williams argue in their book Wikinomics that YouTube is an example for an economy that is based on mass collaboration and makes use of the Internet. "Whether your business is closer to Boeing or P&G, or more like YouTube or flickr, there are vast pools of external talent that you can tap with the right approach. Companies that adopt these models can drive important changes in their industries and rewrite the rules of competition" [95] "new business models for open content will not come from traditional media establishments, but from companies such as Google, Yahoo, and YouTube. This new generation of companies is not burned by the legacies that inhibit the publishing incumbents, so they can be much more agile in responding to customer demands. More important, they understand that you don't need to control the quantity and destiny of bits if they can provide compelling venues in which people build communities around sharing and remixing content. Free content is just the lure on which they layer revenue from advertising and premium services".[96]
Tapscott and Williams argue that it is important for new media companies to find ways of how to make profit with the help of peer-produced content. The new Internet economy that they term Wikinomics would be based on the principles of openness, peering, sharing, and acting globally. Companies could make use of these principles in order to gain profit with the help of Web 2.0 applications: “Companies can design and assemble products with their customers, and in some cases customers can do the majority of the value creation”.[97] Tapscott and Williams argue that the outcome will be an economic democracy.
There are other views in the scientific debate that agree with Tapscott and Williams that value creation is increasingly based on harnessing open source/content, networking, sharing, and peering, but that argue that the result is not an economic democracy, but a subtle form and deepening of exploitation, in which labour costs are reduced by Internet-based global outsourcing.
