"Superstorm." "The Perfect Storm." "Frankenstorm." Whatever you want to call it, the East Coast is bracing for Hurricane Sandy, a "rare hybrid storm" that is expected to bring a life-threatening storm surge to the mid-Atlantic coast, Long Island Sound and New York harbor, forecasters say, with winds expected to be at or near hurricane force when it makes landfall sometime on Monday.
According to the National Hurricane Center, the Category 1 hurricane was centered about 270 miles southeast of Cape Hatteras, N.C., and 575 miles south of New York City early Sunday, carrying maximum sustained winds of 75 mph and moving northeast at 14 mph.
New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg ordered the immediate, mandatory evacuation for low-lying coastal areas, including Coney Island, the Rockaways, Brighton Beach, Red Hook and some parts of lower Manhattan. "If you don't evacuate, you're not just putting your own life at risk," Mayor Bloomberg said at a news conference Sunday. "You're endangering first responders who may have to rescue you."
New Jersey Governor Chris Christie's message for residents was a bit more blunt. "Don't be stupid," Christie said Sunday afternoon, announcing the suspension of the state's transit system beginning at 12:01 a.m. Monday. Earlier, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo announced the suspension of all MTA service--including subways, buses, Long Island Railroad and Metro North--beginning at 7 p.m. Sunday. New York City Public Schools will be closed on Monday, the mayor said. City offices and the New York Stock Exchange, however, will be open for business.

"I can be as cynical as anyone," Christie said on Saturday, announcing a state of emergency. "But when the storm comes, if it's as bad as they're predicting, you're going to wish you weren't as cynical as you otherwise might have been." Meanwhile, emergency evacuations were being mulled by state officials in Connecticut, Massachusetts, Vermont, New Hampshire and even Maine. In Virginia, Governor Bob McDonnell said 20,000 homes there had already reported power outages. "This is not a coastal threat alone," said Craig Fugate, director of the Federal Emergency Management Agency, said during a media briefing early Sunday. "This is a very large area." Forecasters also fear the combination of storm surge, high tide and heavy rain--between 3 and 12 inches in some areas--could be life-threatening for coastal residents. According to the National Hurricane Center summary, coastal water levels could rise anywhere between 1 and 12 feet from North Carolina to Cape Cod, depending on the timing of the "peak surge." A surge of 6 to 11 feet is forecast for Long Island Sound and Raritan Bay, including New York Harbor. The storm surge in New York Harbor during Hurricane Irene in September 2011, forecasters noted, was four feet.

Former pop star Gary Glitter has been arrested as part of a police investigation sparked by sexual abuse claims against the late Jimmy Savile.
Glitter, whose real name is Paul Gadd, was taken from his central London home by officers early on Sunday morning and is to be questioned at a nearby police station. The ex-glam rock star, who had a string of hit singles in the 1970s, is being held on suspicion of sexual offences. Gadd, 68, was detained by officers working on Operation Yewtree , which is investigating allegations of child sex abuse against Savile and others. A police spokesman said: "Officers working on Operation Yewtree have arrested a man in his 60s in connection with the investigation. "The man, from London, was arrested at approximately 0715 on suspicion of sexual offences, and has been taken into custody at a London police station. "The individual falls under the strand of the investigation we have termed 'Savile and others'." Gadd served almost three years in jail in Vietnam after being convicted in March 2006 for child abuse offences. He was deported back to the UK in 2008.
Brazilian student sparks outrage after selling virginity online for $780,000 to raise money for poor families
Is there anything you can't buy on the internet? It would seem not...
A 20-year-old Brazilian student has reportedly sold her virginity in an auction to raise money for charity.
Catarina Migliorini looks set to raise a staggering $780,000 after she sold her virginity to a Japanese man called Natsu.
The physical education student, who claims she will use the money to build homes for poverty-stricken families, received 15 bids.
The victorious bidder from Japan, managed to win despite competition from Americans Jack Miller and Jack Right, and Indian big-spender Rudra Chatterjee
Migliorini, who has sparked outrage across the globe amid claims she is prostituting herself, is being filmed throughout the process by an Australian crew for a documentary film called Virgins Wanted.
In response to critics she said: 'I saw this as a business. I have the opportunity to travel, to be part of a movie and get a bonus with it.
'If you only do it once in your life then you are not a prostitute, just like if you take one amazing photograph it does not automatically make you a photographer.
'The auction is just business, I'm a romantic girl at heart and believe in love. But this will make a big difference to my area,' she told Folha newspaper.
The Australian documentary will also feature Alex Stepanov, a 21-year-old Australian student, who sold his virginity for $3000 to a Brazilian woman called Nene B in an auction.
Catarina Migliorini signed up to the project two years ago when she saw an advert by Thomas Williams Productions.
Independent Voices ran a survey to ask readers their views on selling sex for money. 17% of respondents admitted they had visited a prostitute, but 57 per cent said they would lie about it to their partner if they had.

Brazilian student sells virginity for $780,000
A Brazilian student has sold her virginity in an online auction for US$780,000 as part of a documentary organised by an Australian filmmaker, although a man who did the same only fetched US$3,000. Catarina Migliorini, 20, was the subject of 15 bids, with a Japanese man named only as Natsu winning on Wednesday night, according to the website of the film "Virgins Wanted". He beat out competition from 14 other men, mostly from Brazil but also from India, Australia and the United States. A male whose virginity was also auctioned, 21-year-old Sydney student Alex Stepanov, fetched US$3,000, paid by a Brazilian woman. Australian media said Migliorini would be "delivered" to her buyer on board a plane to Australia and that she would be interviewed before and after losing her virginity at a secret location.
Filmmaker Jason Sisely, who began his project in 2009 and caused outrage when he put posters up in Sydney and Melbourne saying "Virgins Wanted", said Migliorini was ecstatic and had not expected as much such interest. "The auction closed last night and Catarina is extremely excited. She was speaking to her family in Brazil online and they were extremely happy for her," he told Australian online news site Ninemsn. "But I guess they didn't expect her to do something like this." He said the act would be consummated, but not filmed, in the next few weeks. "We will fly over the winner to Australia and obviously, for the sake of the film and privacy, we can't disclose where and when the act will take place," he said. "I have to leave some details for the documentary." On a "Virgins Wanted" trailer on YouTube, Migliorini said: "I haven't found the right person to do it with, I've been too busy with other stuff." She added: "It's more sane than doing it drunk at a party with a stranger." According to Britain's Daily Mail, Migliorini's decision to sell her virginity to the highest bidder has sparked outrage across the globe, with some claiming she was little more than a prostitute. But she defended the move. "I saw this as a business. I have the opportunity to travel, to be part of a movie and get a bonus with it," she was quoted by the Mail as saying. "If you only do it once in your life then you are not a prostitute, just like if you take one amazing photograph it does not automatically make you a photographer." She will reportedly use part of the cash to build homes for poverty-stricken families. Sisely told Ninemsn that under the terms of the auction a condom was compulsory and Natsu must be tested beforehand for any sexually transmitted diseases. "I'm looking forward to my audience's response to the film," he said.
The top 10 most embarrasing first date moments
(GETTY CREATIVE)
The course of true love never runs smoothly. This certainly rings true if the recent survey by Date With A Mate is anything to go by. Members of the site were asked to share some of their dating disasters and the stats that suggest that first date nerves are common place and can lead to some embarrassing situations. Whilst getting food stuck in teeth or nervously spilling a drink where among the most common faux-pas, saying something inappropriate or even calling your new beau the wrong name featured highly, suggesting that one too many glasses of Chardonnay may have been consumed. Here are two experiences of first date disasters.
The female perspective…
I was struggling to find my date in the Tapas restaurant we were meeting in and I was about to hightail it back to the taxi rank, when I made eye contact with my date. He was sitting in the very corner of the bar, glass of red in hand and gave me the nod that it was he! I felt quite on edge, but it was too late to bail, particularly in my heels. So in I went.
We moved to our table, which thankfully was next to the bar and away from the masses, ideal for first date conversation. We ordered calamari, olives, king prawns and a salad to share. We were two glasses of Rioja down and my date decided white wine would be good with the meal. He then told me that he had had ‘bad guts’ for the past few days. He did look as if he was in a slightly cold sweat and I asked him if he felt fine. He said yes and drank another glass of wine. The food arrived and we relaxed into conversation about work when he suddenly said he needed to get some air.
The next thing I saw him hunched over the fire exit door at the side of the restaurant, vomiting. The restaurant doors swung open and my date returned, no mention of the ‘incident’, telling me that he felt a whole lot better. When we parted compant at the taxi rank and he leant in for a kiss but I dodged him and fell into the back seat. As far as I remember he never did have that mint and I know the saying goes “You’ve got to kiss a lot of frogs to find your prince” but I draw the line at sick breath.
The male perspective…
I’d arranged a first date which involved both sets of friends… what could possible go wrong? As planned, I met a few mates up in Covent Garden after work. As the years slip by, so does the alcohol tolerance. By 8pm we were well oiled and in good spirits. My internet date rang to confirm she was in another place around the corner with friends, so we all met up. After a couple of hours of decent banter we decided to head to a rather cheesy nightclub and from where I was standing, all was going swimmingly well.
However, we had been in the club no longer than an hour when a commotion broke out behind me as I chatted to one of her friends. As I looked down, I saw my date sprawled out on the floor. I asked the bar staff to alert the bouncers, as all of our now merged party tried to get a response from the clearly distressed young lady. She came round pretty quickly and with the help of the club doormen, we got her outside and into the fresh air. I sat her down on the pavement and asked if she was alright to which she replied through tears, rather angrily: “Why aren’t you showing me any attention?”
I had a fair idea what that episode was all about. “Did you just collapse to get attention?” I enquired. Then she started crying as if I’d just sacked her from a dream job. As most blokes will testify, we’re no good in situations like this. I felt sorry for her but to me the whole thing smacked of total insanity! The only stroke of luck was that her friends were on hand to make sure she got home safely. Most disturbingly, she sent a text the following day hoping I’d enjoyed the evening and we should do it again sometime.
The top 10 most embarrassing first date moments:
1. Got food stuck in teeth – 17%
2. Bumped into an ex -15%

Obama sends fresh shockwaves through election race with 'bullshitter' attack on Romney
President Barack Obama has taken his rhetorical attacks on Mitt Romney, his Republican challenger, to a new level, calling him a “bullshitter” in a still-to-be-published interview with Rolling Stone magazine.
The comment sent fresh shockwaves through the election race today as Mr Obama wound up a cross-country, 48-hour blitz through seven states.
The President savoured an unsolicited – if not totally unexpected – endorsement from General Colin Powell, a Republican who was Secretary of State to George W Bush.
For days, Mr Obama has been calling Mr Romney untrustworthy because of his sudden transition in the last laps of the campaign from a hard-right conservative to a moderate, giving birth to his “Romnesia” mantra. But the Rolling Stone remark, contained in a brief excerpt of the interview published by Politico, strips the varnish from that view.
It came when an executive editor of the magazine said his six-year-old had asked him to send luck to the President for his re-election. The extract concludes with this piece of reporting: “You know, kids have good instincts,” Obama offered. “They look at the other guy and say, ‘Well, that’s a bullshitter, I can tell’.”
A hoarse Mr Obama was also set tonight to become the first serving President to take part in early voting, casting his ballot in his home town of Chicago.
Getting supporters to take advantage of early voting laws in several swing states has become crucial to the President as he tries to hold on in a down-to-the-wire contest. A new Associated Press-GfK poll showed him trailing Mr Romney nationally by 45 per cent to 47 per cent.
The Obama campaign said it had had no early warning of the Powell endorsement. He telephoned the General to thank him. “We think it sends a strong signal about why he should be sent back for another four years to be commander in chief,” said Jen Psaki, a spokeswoman.
“I think we ought to keep on the track that we are on,” the Republican said on CBS television. He questioned Mr Romney both on his economic plan, arguing that his tax-cut proposals don’t work alongside his promise to cut the deficit, and his foreign policy credentials. “I’m not quite sure which Governor Romney we’d be getting with respect to foreign policy,” he said

Mitt Romney, a former private equity investor and governor of Massachusetts, secured the Republican presidential nomination on May 29, 2012, by winning a final batch of necessary delegates in the Texas primary.
He was nominated on Aug. 28 as the Republican candidate for president at the party’s national convention in Tampa, Fla.
Having lost the Republican nomination to Senator John McCain in 2008, Mr. Romney had been campaigning steadily since then, raising money and building a formidable political operation. As the nominee, Mr. Romney is presenting himself as a ready-to-lead executive, seizing on the weak state of the economy as a central criticism of
President Barack Obama.

Dr. Eben Alexander has taught at Harvard Medical School and has earned a strong reputation as a neurosurgeon. And while Alexander says he's long called himself a Christian, he never held deeply religious beliefs or a pronounced faith in the afterlife. But after a week in a coma during the fall of 2008, during which his neocortex ceased to function, Alexander claims he experienced a life-changing visit to the afterlife, specifically heaven. "According to current medical understanding of the brain and mind, there is absolutely no way that I could have experienced even a dim and limited consciousness during my time in the coma, much less the hyper-vivid and completely coherent odyssey I underwent," Alexander writes in the cover story of this week's edition of Newsweek. So what exactly does heaven look like? Alexander says he first found himself floating above clouds before witnessing, "transparent, shimmering beings arced across the sky, leaving long, streamer like lines behind them." He claims to have been escorted by an unknown female companion and says he communicated with these beings through a method of correspondence that transcended language. Alexander says the messages he received from those beings loosely translated as: "You are loved and cherished, dearly, forever." "You have nothing to fear." "There is nothing you can do wrong." From there, Alexander claims to have travelled to "an immense void, completely dark, infinite in size, yet also infinitely comforting." He believes this void was the home of God. After recovering from his meningitis-induced coma, Alexander says he was reluctant to share his experience with his colleagues but found comfort inside the walls of his church. He's chronicled his experience in a new book, "Proof of Heaven: A neurosurgeon's journey into the afterlife," which will be published in late October. "I'm still a doctor, and still a man of science every bit as much as I was before I had my experience," Alexander writes. "But on a deep level I'm very different from the person I was before, because I've caught a glimpse of this emerging picture of reality. And you can believe me when I tell you that it will be worth every bit of the work it will take us, and those who come after us, to get it right."
Mom gets 99 years in prison for gluing tot's hands

A judge comes down hard on a Dallas woman who attacked her 2-year-old over potty training
DALLAS (AP) — A Dallas woman who beat her 2-year-old daughter and glued the toddler's hands to a wall because she was struggling with potty training was sentenced Friday to 99 years in prison.
Family members in the courtroom sobbed loudly as the judge announced Elizabeth Escalona's punishment. Escalona pleaded guilty in July to felony injury to a child, but her mother and sister had asked the court for leniency on her behalf.
Dallas County prosecutor Eren Price said the 23-year-old mother of five had not taken responsibility for her actions.
"Elizabeth lies to hide the evil," Price said. Escalona's other children told authorities that their mother attacked Jocelyn Cedillo in September 2011 due to potty training problems. Police say she kicked her daughter in the stomach, beat her with a milk jug, then stuck her hands to an apartment wall with an adhesive commonly known as Super Glue. Jocelyn suffered bleeding in her brain, a fractured rib, multiple bruises and bite marks, and was in a coma for a couple of days, a doctor testified at the sentencing hearing. Some skin had been torn off her hands, where doctors also found glue residue and white paint chips from the apartment wall. "On Sept. 7, 2011, you savagely beat your child to the edge of death," State District Judge Larry Mitchell said. "For this you must be punished." Jocelyn has since recovered and her grandmother now cares for her along with Elizabeth Escalona's four other children, including a baby born this year. Prosecutors portrayed Escalona as an unfit mother with a history of violence. They played recordings in which Escalona as a teenager threatened to kill her mother. They said she had been a gang member and that she started smoking marijuana at age 11. "Only a monster glues her daughter's hands to the wall," Price said during the hearing. Escalona asked for leniency, telling the judge she was no longer the monster who committed the attack. "I will never forgive myself for what I did to my own daughter," she said. Escalona had faced from probation to life in prison. Prosecutors initially sought a 45-year sentence, but during closing arguments Price said she wanted Escalona to be sentenced to life in prison. Defense attorney Angie N'Duka repeated that Escalona was not a monster and that she was deserving of probation or a short sentence. "She is no monster. She can be redeemed. She can be helped," N'Duka said during closing arguments. N'Duka said Escalona asked, "What about my children?" after the sentence was announced. Price said Escalona will be eligible for parole in 30 years. N'Duka said she plans to appeal. Escalona's family has acknowledged their dismay and anger following the attack, but her sister and her mother nonetheless asked the judge for leniency. A counselor, Melanie Davis, testified that her sessions with Escalona indicated the young mother loved all of her children and that she would benefit from more counseling. Davis said Escalona has set herself the short-term goal of finding a job and the long-term aim of getting her children back.

I met this young Black Swan couple about two years ago. They took care of one baby at that time and had hard time when the baby due to leave from parents. Mother is always very sweet care and father is quite strict. Baby did not want to leave from parents. Father started force to drive away the child. Then baby stuck to mother always. They started to go another pond near by and get back, sometimes with three together. Nearly one week later, almost dusk of one day, While child swan was a little bit far away, parents suddenly flew away to leave the child alone behind. After this, the child was crying to wish finding parents. Accidentally I saw this scene, I fed bread and few hours stayed together. Next morning I went to see the child but there is not. Then I went to original place The child was there with mother. I think the child flew back at dawn. The child completely disappeared after few weeks from this happening. Last year the couple had 5 babies at first. 2 disappeared in one to two weeks. Some body said it might be eaten by big eel. They brought up with really tender care of three children and two children left the nest at first, almost one month later the other one disappeared.

THE PASSION OF THE CHRIST
Former DJ, TV presenter and charity fundraiser Sir Jimmy Savile has died aged 84
In 2006 he spoke to the BBC's Stephen Nolan about his life.
Savile started out as a dance hall DJ in the 1950s, before making his name as a broadcaster on Radio Luxembourg. In this interview he talks about running 52 different dance halls.
He was one of the first DJs on BBC Radio 1 and launched Top of the Pops in 1964.
Sir Jimmy Savile claiming (L) and convicted paedophile Gary Glitter
Sir Jimmy Savile once claimed former 70s pop star and convicted paedophile Garry Glitter
did nothing wrong and was only arrested because he was a celebrity.
A statue of Sir Jimmy Savile has been removed from a Glasgow leisure centre amid allegations that the late entertainer raped and sexually abused young girls. The wooden sculpture outside Scotstoun Leisure Centre was pulled down by operators who said they "felt it necessary" to remove the statue which overlooked the children's swimming pool. It had stood on the site since 1993, in honour of Savile's charity work. A spokesman for Glasgow Life, which operates the centre, said: "Given the current controversy and the seriousness of the allegations, we thought it appropriate to move the statue at this time." The decision comes just days after an historic rape allegation made against the Yorkshire-born DJ and presenter was referred to Scotland Yard by officers in Surrey.
Graham Smith Harrogate
I lived in the apartment directly below Sir Jimmy for a few years and worked as a documentary cameraman on Jim'll Fix it.
We did one Fix It on the QE2 when a boy had written in asking to be a waiter on the cruise ship. That was great fun. There was a lady in her 70s who wanted to be part of the White Helmets motorcycle display team. I ended up filming on the pillion seats of one of the bikes - an amazing experience.
I also worked with Sir Jim on a video for Leeds General Infirmary.
I got to know him quite well as a neighbour as well as professionally. I was always impressed with the way he was around the hospital. He would chat with everyone and spend time with everyone. He was never too busy, he really liked people and he was happy to spend time with them.
He would factor extra time into his journeys around the hospital because everyone wanted to talk to him.

Tributes are being paid to DJ, TV presenter and charity fundraiser Sir Jimmy Savile, who has died aged 84. Sir Jimmy, one of the most famous names on British TV and radio in the 1960s, 70s and 80s, died on Saturday. Tributes have come from such figures as the Prince of Wales, who said he was "saddened" to hear of Sir Jimmy death.
Details of how the broadcaster died are not yet known, but he was recently in hospital with pneumonia. His nephews said he died quietly in his sleep.
Mark Thompson, BBC Director General
"I am very sad to hear of Sir Jimmy Savile's death," said Mr Thompson.
"From Top of the Pops to Jim'll Fix It, Jimmy's unique style entertained generations of BBC audiences. Like millions of viewers and listeners we shall miss him greatly."
Jeremy Hunt, Culture Secretary for David Cameron's Tory Government
"Sir Jimmy Savile was one of broadcasting's most unique and colourful characters," said Mr Hunt.
"From Top of the Pops to making children's dreams come true on Jim'll Fix It, a generation of people will remember his catchphrases and sense of fun.
"But his lasting legacy will be the millions he raised for charity, tirelessly giving up his time and energy to help those causes he was passionate about."
Alan Franey, former Chief Executive of Bradmore Hospital
"I spent a lot of time with him and would say I knew him probably as well as anybody else knew him," Mr Franey told BBC 5 live.
"I spoke to him last Wednesday and asked him how he was, and he said he was feeling very tired and short of breath. Mentally, he was very alert. But he said to me: 'I'm coming to the end of the tunnel.'"
Mr Franey ran marathons with Sir Jimmy to raise money for causes including Broadmoor, Stoke Mandeville Hospital in Buckinghamshire and Leeds General Infirmary.
"Jimmy would spend time going round the hospital [at Broadmoor] talking to staff and talking to patients, and if he could do any fundraising he would do so," he said.
"He spent a lot of his life involved in raising [money for] charity and was passionate about helping people. Jimmy had a very normal upbringing but it was a tough upbringing and he never forgot his roots. He felt that he was in a situation where he could raise funds for people using his position in showbiz and he successfully did that."

A former Lloyds Bank worker in charge of online security has admitted carrying out a fraud worth more than £2.4m
"...Jessica Harper has today been convicted of the type of crime the bank employed her to combat...” Sue Patten Crown Prosecution Service
A former Lloyds Bank worker in charge of online security has admitted carrying out a fraud worth more than £2.4m.
Jessica Harper, 50, had been accused of submitting false invoices to claim payments between 2007 and 2011.
At the time she was working as head of fraud and security for digital banking and made false claims totalling £2,463,750.
Harper, of South Croydon, south London, will be sentenced on 21 September.
At Southwark Crown Court, Harper admitted a single charge of fraud by abuse of position by submitting false invoices to claim payments.
'Very simple fraud'
She also admitted a single charge of transferring criminal property, the money, which she had defrauded from her employers.
Harper was arrested on 21 December last year, before being charged in May.
Antony Swift, prosecuting, did not open the facts of the case but said it was a "a very simple fraud".
He added Harper had already repaid £300,000 and was in the process of selling her house for about £700,000.
"That will be some £1m out of £2.5m that's gone missing," he told the judge.
Carol Hawley, defending, said: "She appreciates the seriousness and has made full admissions in interview.
"She understands perfectly well on the next occasion she will be facing imprisonment of some length."
Breach of trust
Judge Nicholas Loraine-Smith granted Harper bail on the condition she stays at her current address, obeys a 21:00 to 07:00 curfew and hands in her passport.
Sue Patten, head of the Crown Prosecution Service, Central Fraud Division, said: "Jessica Harper has today been convicted of the type of crime the bank employed her to combat.
"The evidence in the case was clear and left Harper with little choice but to plead guilty.
"In doing so, she has admitted to a huge breach of trust against her former employer."
Lloyds is now 39.7% state-owned after being bailed out by the government during the financial crisis.
Jailing Quinn legally wrong: lawyer
Sean Quinn jnr, son of bankrupt former billionaire Sean Quinn
Press Association – 2nd October 2012
It was legally wrong to jail the son of ex-billionaire Sean Quinn in an attempt to coerce the former tycoon to reverse an asset-stripping plot, an appeal hearing has been told.
The Supreme Court heard that Sean Quinn junior was jailed indefinitely at Mountjoy Prison for one offence despite his father being convicted for more serious charges.
The 33-year-old was found guilty of one charge of contempt and sentenced in July while his father was allowed to walk free, even though he was blamed for financially more significant moves.
During a legal challenge to overturn the sentence and conviction for contempt, Quinn junior's legal team argued he was ordered to comply with several coercive orders he had no involvement with and had no power over.
Brian O'Moore, senior counsel, told the court it was "incorrect and legally wrong", as well as "wrong in principle", for the High Court to jail his client to encourage his father to purge his contempt and recover half a billion euro in assets for the former Anglo Irish Bank.
"If Sean Quinn senior had the ultimate power to comply with coercive orders, one wonders why his son is in jail," the barrister said.
A smartly-dressed Quinn junior - on day release from Mountjoy's low-security training centre - sat at the back of the courtroom next to his wife, Karen Woods, as his case was opened. He was also flanked by a plain-clothes prison officer and his brother-in-law, solicitor Niall McPartland.
Quinn junior and his cousin Peter Darragh Quinn were jailed in July for breaching court orders restraining the stripping of 500 million euro of assets in the Quinns' now carved-up International Property Group.
His cousin, son of former GAA president Peter Quinn, remains on the run in Northern Ireland.
Quinn senior, who was not in court for the hearing, remains free to assist the bailed-out bank to recover the assets.
Provocative Vogue Magazine cover prompts outcry
Vogue Four domestic rights and women's advocacy groups have asked Conde Nast to pull the new Vogue International cover from its shelves. Organization leaders charge that the image of model Stephanie Seymour, appearing to be choked by a lover, glorifies violence as an act of love.
Ali and John discuss the latest French Vogue magazine cover where model Stephanie Seymour appears to be being choked by fellow model, Marlon Teixeira. Critics are accusing the magazine of supporting domestic violence in women — although Ali thinks Teixeira looks anything but angry in the photo.
Do you think the cover is glorifying domestic violence in women? Tell us in the comments below.
More can't-miss moments: Ali talks 130 inmates who escaped from a Mexican prison and fled to Texas via a tunnel, cellphones and computers emit optical radiation that suppress serotonin levels (the hormone responsible for sleep), and a superintendent in Rhode Island is trying to ban father-daughter dances, mother-son baseball games, and any other gender-based school events.

Kate Middleton topless photos to be published by French magazine *shocked face*
By Julia | the juice
Kate was caught topless in the grounds of a private guest house. Copyright: [rex]
Kate Middleton has reportedly been photographed topless sunbathing in private grounds and a magazine in France is planning on printing the pictures.
Yes, another naked Royal! What next? Prince Phillip appearing on his undercrackers on the Royal balcony? In all seriousness though Kate is believed to be 'saddened' by the news the pictures may be printed. We think it is one thing to take photos on a public beach, but if Kate wants to get an all over tan in private then she is as entitled as anyone else. However, the magazine's editor says on Twitter: "We can say that after tomorrow's Closer, Harry will feel less alone ..." Royal sources are saying that Prince William is particularly furious at the invasion of his wife's privacy and that his 'blood is boiling'. Palace officials told Sky News that the couple learned of the pictures over breakfast and Prince William compared them to the media bombardment his mother Princess Diana faced before she died The Palace says: "The Duke and Duchess are saddened their privacy has been breached. It's turned the clock back 15 years." "They woke up to the story this morning and have seen the photos, which were taken at a private hotel by a private swimming pool." They couple ars currently on tour in Malaysia, a predominantly Muslim country, intensifying the prospect of the scandal. A mock up of the proposed cover of French Closer has been released in which you can see blurred images of the Dutchess in a bikini appearing to be undoing it. The images come just weeks after her brother in law, Prnce Harry, was found in an equal state of undress when images were released of him playing 'naked billairds' in Las Vegas.
Royals Sue Magazine Over Kate Topless Photos
By Paul Harrison, Royal Correspondent, in Kuala Lumpur | Sky News Prince William and his wife Kate have launched a legal action for breach of privacy against the publishers of France's Closer magazine after it printed topless pictures of her on holiday.
St James's Palace said the publication of the photos was reminiscent of the "worst excesses of the press and paparazzi during the life of Diana, Princess of Wales".
The front page shows the Duchess of Cambridge topless on the terrace of a private house in France, where she was staying with William last week. Inside the magazine there are further pictures, taken with a long lens, of her sunbathing topless.
Prince William and Kate were said to have reacted with "anger and disbelief" and thought a "red line has been crossed".
The palace said: "Their Royal Highnesses have been hugely saddened to learn that a French publication and a photographer have invaded their privacy in such a grotesque and totally unjustifiable manner.
"The incident is reminiscent of the worst excesses of the press and paparazzi during the life of Diana, Princess of Wales, and all the more upsetting to the Duke and Duchess for being so.
"Their Royal Highnesses had every expectation of privacy in the remote house. It is unthinkable that anyone should take such photographs, let alone publish them."
The palace earlier said it was consulting French lawyers.
The magazine's French website shows a pixellated photograph of the Duchess in a bikini apparently removing her top.
In an interview, Closer's editor Laurence Pieau defended the decision to print the photos and said she did not think the photos were "shocking".
She said she thought the reaction had been "disproportionate".
"Two weeks ago, there were the pictures of Prince Harry that had been published by the English press. So one shouldn't be hypocritical. And those were pictures that were degrading and far more hot than those that we're publishing.
"She's a topless princess. There have been others. It's really not new.
"We're in the celebrity press business and we know that these images are full of joy, not degrading and concern a princess who is pretty and is making the whole world dream."
Ms Pieau said they had been given even more intimate photos they had decided not to publish.
The magazine article states: "See incredible images of the future queen of England like you've never seen her before ... and like you'll never see again."
It went on: "Kate perfected her tan and smothered her nymph-like body with factor-50 sunscreen while William played on his tablet computer. And to avoid tan lines, Kate thought of everything ... and took off her swimsuit."
The pictures were taken while the Duke and Duchess were staying in Provence at a chateau owned by Lord Linley, the Queen's nephew.
The couple, who are currently visiting parts of southeast Asia and the South Pacific for a Diamond Jubilee tour, were told about the pictures just ahead of a stop at a mosque in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. She appeared unfazed during the visit as news of the pictures spread around the world. She later looked relaxed and smiled and waved at Malaysians who had gathered to see her at a park in the capital. She stopped, chatted and joked with her husband as they made their way on foot towards a conference centre where the Duke delivered his first speech in the country. Malaysia is a largely Muslim country with laws on public decency, making the timing of the pictures' emergence even more difficult. The palace said once they had a break in their schedule the couple would "turn their minds to what, if any, action they wish to take". The couple's next stop is Kota Kinabalu, capital of the state of Sabah on Borneo. The pictures have not been published in Britain, but the Daily Mirror and Sunday Mirror confirmed they were offered pictures of the Duchess wearing a bikini on the same balcony a week ago. The papers' editor Lloyd Embley said: "As with the naked pictures of Prince Harry in a private hotel room, we took the decision not to publish them.
"In both cases we believed there would be a clear breach of the Press Complaints Commission's Editors' Code of Practice, regarding intrusion of privacy."
Publication of the images in France has revived the privacy row prompted by the images of Prince Harry frolicking nude at a Las Vegas hotel. The Sun was the only British newspaper to defy advice from the Press Complaints Commission not to publish those photos of the naked prince with an unnamed woman. The tabloid's editor Dominic Mohan confirmed the paper would not publish the topless pictures of Kate that appeared in Closer. He said: "The Sun has no intention of breaching the royal couple's privacy. The circumstances are very different to those relating to the photos of Prince Harry in Las Vegas.
"Prince Harry was at a party with a large group of strangers - one of whom released a photo into the public domain."
The French edition of Closer magazine is published by a different company to the British edition.
In a statement Closer magazine UK said it "would never publish topless images of a member of the Royal family on its cover or otherwise". The chief executive of the publisher of the UK's Closer said the company had "complained in the strongest terms" to the firm which licensed the title in France. Paul Keenan of Bauer Media said his company deplored the publication of the "intrusive and offensive pictures". And he said Bauer had asked Closer France to remove the pictures and refrain from publishing any more of the images.

High Frequency Active Auroral Research Program HAARP
described on the HAARP Website as a Premier Facility for the Study of Ionosperic Physics and Radio Science
Questions of a technical nature may be submitted via e-mail to:
Earth is wrapped in a donut shaped magnetic field. Circular lines of flux continuously descend into the North Pole and emerge from the South Pole. The ionosphere, an electromagnetic-wave conductor, 100 kms above the earth, consists of a layer of electrically charged particles acting as a shield from solar winds. Natural waves are related to the electrical activity in the atmosphere and are thought to be caused by multiple lightning storms. Collectively, these waves are called ‘The Schumann Resonance´, the current strongest at 7.8 Hz. These are quasi-standing extremely low frequency (ELF) waves that naturally exist in the earth´s ‘electromagnetic´ cavity, the space between the ground and the ionosphere. These ‘earth brainwaves´ are identical to the spectrum of our brainwaves.
(1 hertz = 1 cycle per second, 1 Khz = 1000, 1 Mhz =1 million. A 1 Hertz wave is 186,000 miles long, 10 Hz is 18,600 miles. Radio-waves move at the speed of light.)
The Creator designed living beings to resonate to this natural frequency pulsation in order to evolve harmoniously. The ionosphere is being manipulated by US govt. scientists using an Alaskan transmitter called HAARP, (High-Frequency Active Auroral Research Program) which sends focused radiated power to heat up sections of the ionosphere, which bounces power down again. ELF waves from HAARP when targeted on areas can weather-engineer and create mood changes affecting millions. The intended wattage is 1,700 billion watts of power. A former govt. insider deduced they want to flip the world upside down. 64 elements in the ground modulate, with variation, the geomagnetic waves naturally coming from the ground.
The ‘earth´s natural brain rhythm´ above is balanced with these. These are the same minerals as the red blood corpuscles. There is a relation between the blood and geomagnetic waves. An imbalance between Schumann and geomagnetic waves disrupts biorhythms. These natural geomagnetic waves are being replaced by artificially created very low frequency (VLF) ground waves coming from GWEN Towers.
GWEN (Ground Wave Emergency Network) transmitters placed 200 miles apart across the USA allow specific frequencies to be tailored to the geomagnetic-field strength in each area, allowing the magnetic field to be altered. They operate in the VLF range, with transmissions between VLF 150 and 175 KHz. They also emit UHF waves of 225 - 400 MHz. The VLF signals travel by waves that hug the ground rather than radiating into the atmosphere. A GWEN station transmits circularly up to 300 miles, the signal dropping off sharply with distance. The entire GWEN system consists of, (depending on source of data), from 58 to an intended 300 transmitters spread across the USA, each with a tower 299-500 ft high. 300 ft copper wires in spoke like fashion fan out from the base of the system underground, interacting with the earth like a thin shelled conductor, radiating radio wave energy for very long distances through the ground. USA bathes in this magnetic field which rises to 500 ft, even going down to basements, so everyone is mind-controlled. The whole artificial ground-wave spreads out over USA like a web. It is easier to mind-control and hypnotize people who are bathed in an artificial electromagnetic-wave. (Covering the entire floor with aluminum and buying a CET cylinder from Nordic Living Water Systems helps.) GWEN transmitters have many different functions including controlling the weather, mind, behavior and mood control.
These work in conjunction with HAARP and the Russian Woodpecker transmitter, similar to HAARP. The Russians openly market a small version of their weather-engineering system called Elate, which can fine-tune weather patterns over a 200 mile area and have the same range as the GWEN unit. One operates at Moscow airport. The GWEN Towers shoot enormous bursts of energy into the atmosphere in conjuction with HAARP. The website www.cuttingedge.org wrote an expose of how the major floods of the Mid-West USA occurred in 1993.
Invisible enormous rivers of water, consisting of vapors that flow, move towards the poles in the lower atmosphere. They rival the flow of the Amazon River and are 420 to 480 miles wide and up to 4,800 miles long. They are 1.9 miles above the earth and have volumes of 340 lbs of water per second. There are 5 atmospheric rivers in each Hemisphere. A massive flood can be created by damming up one of these massive vapor rivers, causing huge amounts of rainfall to be dumped.
The GWEN Towers positioned along the areas north of the Missouri and Mississippi Rivers were turned on for 40 days and 40 nights, probably mocking the Flood of Genesis. (This was in conjunction with HAARP, that creates a river of electricity flowing thousands of miles through the sky and down to the polar ice-cap, manipulating the jet-stream , like The Woodpecker.) These rivers flooded, causing agricultural losses of $12-15 billion. HAARP produces earthquakes by focusing on the fault lines. GWEN Towers are on the fault lines and volcanic areas of the Pacific Northeast.

2. INTERVIEW II: FUKUSHIMA, NO ACCIDENT 15
A New World Order Watch Media Publication (www.visionreportwatch.com) July 2012: Issue 25GLOBAL DEPOPULATION STRATEGY INTERVIEWhttp://WWW.VISIONREPORTWATCH.COM
Leuren Moret was an expert witness at the International Criminal Tribunal For Afghanistan At Tokyo. She is an independent scientist and international expert on
radiation and public health issues. She is on the organizing committee of the World Committee on Radiation Risk, an organization of independent radiation
specialists, including members of the Radiation Committee in the EU parliament, the European Committee on Radiation Risk. She has been an environmental
commissioner for the City of Berkeley. Ms. Moret earned her BSc in geology at U.C. Davis in 1968 and her MA in Near Eastern studies from U.C. Berkeley.
She has travelled and conducted scientific research in 42 countries. She contributed to a scientific report on depleted uranium for the United Nations sub commission investigating the illegality of depleted uranium munitions. She has also conducted research concerning the impact on the health of the
environment and global public health from atmospheric testing, nuclear power plants, and depleted uranium. She has helped collect and measure radiation in 6000 baby teeth from children living around nuclear power plants, and helped The State of Louisiana (USA) pass the first state depleted uranium bill for mandatory testing of soldiers.
Her article "Depleted Uranium: The Trojan Horse of Nuclear War" in the June 2004 World Affairs Journal was translated at the request of the Kremlin for distribution throughout the Russian government.
Moret describes herself as a whistle-blower on nuclear weapon research and states that her 2000 visit to the Peace Museums at Hiroshima and Nagasaki changed her life. Her efforts are focused on educating people about the negative impact of radiation on health and advocates against testing of nuclear
weapons.
However one of her most controversial conclusions was where she declared on March 21, 2011 that the “Japan Earthquake" and “accidents” that occurred March 11, 2011, were deliberate acts of tectonic nuclear warfare.
Known as the 2011 Tohoku earthquake, it was the most powerful known earthquake ever to have hit Japan, and one of the five most powerful earthquakes in the world since modern record-keeping began in 1900.The earthquake triggered powerful tsunami waves that reached heights of up to 40.5 metres (133 ft) in Miyako and which, in the Sendai area, travelled up to 10 km (6 mi) inland. The earthquake moved Honshu 2.4 m (8 ft) east and shifted the Earth on its axis by estimates of between 10 cm and 25
cm.
Moret claimed further that the "attack" was carried out using High Frequency Active Auroral Research Program (HAARP) technology by the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), the United States Department of Energy, and British Petroleum on behalf of London banking interests.
Without her esteemed history and credibility within the scientific arena many would have dismissed her views as wild conspiracy theories yet her views are more and more raising questions within the scientific field regarding a global agenda to depopulate the earth through the use of radiation.
In 2008 she wrote an article in which she said,
“The international bankers located within the ancient Roman “City of London” have decided that: if you
control the food, you control the nation, if you control the energy, you control a region, and if you control
money, you control the whole world.
The City of London international bankers are the descendants of the Merchants of Venice, who are
descended from those who controlled the Roman, Egyptian, and Mesopotamian empires. They invented
the concept of a corporation to relieve themselves of any liability for their actions.
Maurice Strong, more than anyone else in the world, has written the rules for the global takeover of land,
resources and people by these international bankers. Strong began working for the Rockefellers when
he was 18 and he continues to work for and with the Wall Street-City of London bankers today. And
under the terms of globalization set up by Strong and others, private corporations have no responsibility
or liability.
Jacob Rothschild and the Rothschild Family own 80% of the world's uranium. Individual property owners
now typically own only the top 6 inches of soil on their land. Everything else, presumably down to the
center of the earth, is owned by the City of London. Today, this global land grab is comprised of
countless local land grabs.
Governments such as the US government are creating Wildlands and National Heritage Sites. And this
is proceeding under the justification of environmental protection. Meanwhile, people are being squeezed
off their land. The environmental movement and NGOs (non-governmental organizations) have tricked
us into relinquishing our private property rights guaranteed to us by the US Constitution. Agenda 21- the
UN Agenda for the Twenty-First Century, also created by Maurice Strong- is proceeding at triple speed
under Bush II.”
In this edition of the Vision Report Watch she unveils a deep insight into her research in two monumental interviews with the Media Conscious Network.

Violence again on streets of Belfast -15 police hurt as riots flare again
15 police hurt as riots flare again
Press Association – 4th September 2012
Fifteen police officers have been injured in a second night of serious disorder in Belfast.
Three were taken to hospital during trouble that saw rioters throw 15 petrol bombs at police lines in the Carlisle Circus area in the north of the city.
Officers used water cannon and fired six baton rounds at the crowds as troubled flared on Monday night.
Rioters also hurled stones, bottles, fireworks and rocks and hijacked a van in Denmark Street before pushing it towards police lines.
The extent of the injuries sustained by the police officers taken to hospital is not yet known.
Terry Spence, chairman of the Northern Ireland Police Federation, which represents rank and file officers, said: "Their bravery and courage is in stark contrast to that of the cowardly thugs responsible for trying to murder them."
The latest disorder came after 47 Police Service of Northern Ireland officers were injured on Sunday night during riots linked to a republican parade nearby and a loyalist protest.
Terror figure killed in gun attack
Press Association – Mon, Sep 3, 2012
A leading terror figure has been killed and an associate injured in a gangland-style gun attack in north Dublin.
The victim, named locally as Alan Ryan, has several previous convictions and is known by detectives for his links with the Real IRA (RIRA).
The 32-year-old was notorious for racketeering - extorting cash from drug dealers and businessmen across the city and demanding protection money from firms.
He was previously convicted of taking part in a RIRA weapons training camp in Meath in 2001 and served time for possession of a firearm in a separate incident.
A Garda source said: "He was very dangerous. He won't be missed. Anyone could have done this. Even one of his own."
The daylight shooting happened in the Grange Lodge estate in Clongriffin.
Ryan was shot in the head near his home and was rushed to Beaumont hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The second man was shot in the leg.
A burnt-out car was discovered a short time later on Hole in the Wall Road and both scenes have been sealed off pending a forensic technical examination.
Gardai have appealed for witnesses to come forward.
Ryan was due to go on trial - along with three other men - for threatening a city-centre publican and making him cease trading within 24 hours.
